Eliquis and surgery
Eliquis
and surgery. My EP says 5 days off
eliquis
before carpal tunnel surgery( which is very minor compared to something else ) and off 2 days after surgery. All the literature I can find says this is excessive. I am more scared of a stroke than the pain from the carpal tunnel.

AF and PM
Diagnosed AF in 2015, use multaq and
eliquis
. Multaq caused my heart beat long pauses(>3sec) and dizziness. Doctor says l need a pacemaker. I am going to install it tomorrow. I had low platelet #,<90k( l doubt
eliquis
May decrease my platelet #!?). Is that a concern for the pm procedure?

Eliquis & low platelets
I have been taking
Eliquis
for 9 months, and my platelets have dropped from 150,000 to 118,000. I believe the norm is 150,000 to 400,000. I am waiting to see my EP after my 2nd ablation. Should I be concerned with the drop? Thank you !

New to this site; but not new to medical problems; but have to add lung problems to afib and others.
I have afib, on
Eliquis
(5 Mg twice a day) and just had an Ablation to try and correct the afib; but in the midst, just diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) Any help appreciated.

Another step forward with solid EP visit
I can stop
Eliquis
, imdur and reduce my Lipitor from 80 to 20 mg. Staying on sotalol for at least another 3 months, in part because I have been getting some short episodes of palptitations with activity since the summer weather arrived here in Boston. But overall another step forward.

Gosh I better learn how to reply /respond sorry if I did not reply
May help promote sleep Make sure you read the precautions and do not use if you take blood thinners like Wayfarin or
Eliquis
. "The loss of of Phosphatidylserine in turn disrupted the production of vesicles that transport chemicals when nerve cells communicate and control circadian rhythms ."

Which anticoagulant is best
I have been taking Pradaxa but saw a study that said
Eliquis
was safer so asked Doc to switch me. Now I am wishing I had not as I haven’t had any side effects with Pradaxa and there is a chance I could with
Eliquis
.

This isn't strictly AF but...
All doctor's secretary would say was I need to stop
Eliquis
right away and schedule a colonoscopy for next week. No other news. Anyone ever have anything similar?

Apixaban newbie
I'm an
Eliquis
newbie, on it for just 5 days. I've been freaking about bleeding, and what you all share is so reassuring and realistically informative - big appreciation to you all.

Finally had enough!
Tried and hated beta blockers so now I use
Eliquis
only for blood thinning. I have decided this is no way to live - riddled with anxiety about when the next episode will hit - and always feeling tired for days after an episode.

Which anticoagulant is the safest
I have been on Pradaxa since I was diagnosed 4 years ago but thinking of asking EP to change it to
Eliquis
as I have read it is safer. Just wondered which was the most prescribed anticoagulant?
