After three months of taking Eliquis, I have developed a severe upper body itching. Could AEliquus was possibly be the cause of this

I’ve been taking Apixaban for around 2 years without any problems. If it persists, perhaps you should try an alternative.......

are you on a beta-blocker as well? they are known to cause some upper body itching. I noticed similar to you after a couple of months on apixaban and bisoprolol and suspected it was the bisoprolol. however it now seems to have stopped after 7 months on them. discuss it with your GP or see if it dies down over the next couple of weeks

I too am on both bisoprolol and Eliquis. I now have a persistent and annoying itch just under my right shoulder blade, which started shortly after starting the drug regime last November. I've learned to live with it, but if it was more extensive or more intense I would struggle with that.

I'm not qualified to judge which drug might be the cause, but I suspect the apixaban (Eliquis).

I had quite a lot of itching when I was on Apixaban. I have not had the issue since stopping the drug. I don't know if the itching was drug related, however "hives, itching, skin rash" is one of the listed side effects. Flapjack's suggestion to try switching to another anticoagulant is a good one.

Charlie :-) There is another thread here on the same subject ...

my rash isn't too bad at the moment.

The unhelpful doctor I saw recently said my rash was 'unlikly to be caused by Apixiban'.

For what it is worth. I have an inclination to skin problems on account of having dermatitis herpeteformis but do not have problems with Apixaban. Could you have Hives? It is red, very itchy and can be spreading
