BREAKTHROUGH! Parkinson's Progression HALTED by Inhibiting Enzyme!
Summary: Researchers discovered that inhibiting a specific enzyme, USP30, in a mouse model protects
dopamine
-producing neurons, which are typically lost as the disease progresses.

To those newly diagnosed! There is hope!
According to Dr Laura Michley, PD can be treated like Diabetes, except
dopamine
instead of insulin. I wish I would have know that when I was dx, especially at 38. You need to seriously consider memorizing the paper attached. It is the most important paper I’ve read with Parkinson’s.

the curse of lifelong RLS…
Three years ago, at the age of 60, I got to see the professor himself and he advised
Dopamine
Agonists , either Ropinirole or the Rotigotine Patch, despite my ferritin being way below 100 my request for an iron transfusion was refused.

To Infuse or not to Infuse
responses=140038350 Docker 4 years ago I get severely bad rls in my legs, arms and hands and sometimes, when I'm really bad, in my face.I've tried everything sports massage, diet change, acupuncture, countless drugs (pain killers, nerve blockers,
dopamine
agonists), iron infusions.

Confusion over Mayo Clinic report
Reading the report, it seems the next recommendation is the nonergot
dopamine
agonists, or the drugs that cause augmentation. Sue Johnson, etc. seem to disagree about this course of action?

Mitochondrial failing due to T3 problems
I have also read that - • Prolonged administration of pharmacological doses of
dopamine
can significantly reduce serum TSH levels and thyroid hormone secretion in normal and critically ill subjects. I have been taking
dopamine
agonists for years.

blood test back - any thoughts?
Also my white blood count came back as much lower (3.6 vs 5 last year) - do any
dopamine
or prefab affect blood results? Just curious about the drop. Thanks as always for all your support in getting this far.

why docs don’t want to prescribe opioids for RLS….😔
Yes, I am very tribal when it comes to being in the anti-
dopamine
agonist camp for RLS as well. Why?

Resting Tremor Stopped Briefly With Hypnosis
Perhaps the threshold damage to
dopamine
neurons had been reached. But the hypnotic suggestion still works to briefly stop both the tremor and muscle contraction. So, is chronic muscle contraction prodromal to PD?

An exhaustive study that offers hope that some types of activities can improve symptoms even as disease progresses
Traditionally, research has focused on striatal
dopamine
loss as the main driver of symptoms. But this study shows compensatory activity in the cortex can help mitigate severity. This suggests there may be opportunities to enhance compensatory pathways through therapies. 2.

For a good time.... call Dopamine T-shirt
This is a molecule of
Dopamine
resembling a lady. Her face is a benzene ring, her eyebrows and mouth are double bonds, her earrings are hydroxy groups, and the pendant on her necklace is an amine group. The phone number is actually the Chemical Abstracts number for the
dopamine
molecule.

Augmentation
Hi, I am trying to come off the
dopamine
agonist that I have been taking for the past eight years for my RLS, does anybody know if the augmentation I have built up will go when I am clear of the medication, or am I stuck with it for the rest of my life?

Parkinson’s cure versus settling for remission Reflections on the topic introduced by another member
Mischley is that she chooses to look at Parkinson’s as a
dopamine
deficiency not unlike the lack of insulin for diabetes patients. For some reason, that is less scary to me.

Weaning off high dose Pramipexole
Seemed odd as it is a
dopamine
drug but it worked to knock back the symptoms to the evening. . Then over time I started adapting and required higher and higher doses. I've now taken 1.5mg a day for the past 4 or 5 years, which is way high and augmenting again.

Sharing Info : Thorne Gut Test
As someone who reported a Parkinson's disease diagnosis, recent research has found E. faecalis and E. faecium convert the Parkinson's drug L-Dopa into
dopamine
, causing GI side effects and limiting L-Dopa serum availability to the brain.

3rd attempt…. for a good reason!I have added important facts.
Dopamine
Agonists and possible torturous augmentation caused by the DAs, are reduced and a more suitable treatment is found more quickly .Yes there will always be the person whose RLS is refractory to treatment but then the secondary care doctors can really use their expertise, brains, knowledge and

Glad to see more and more players are jumping into the stem cell therapy
It is intended to directly address Parkinson’s underlying mechanisms by replacing the
dopamine
-producing nerve cells progressively lost to patients with precursor cells able to grow into healthy dopaminergic neurons.
