New insights into addictive behaviour caused by dopamine replacement therapy
"They created a kind of wiring map of the brain and found that those who had negative behavioural reactions to the medication had one of two things in common. 'We took circuits in the brain that we know have underlying important behaviours and two of those behaviours are choosing and stopping

Low dose aspirin?
which presents a study on mice which may not translate to the same results in humans, however conclusion was very intriguing: "Recently researchers have found that low doses of the pain reliever, aspirin, can increase levels of
dopamine

Been on Elvanse (Vyvanse) for nearly three months, about to switch to Concerta XL for a trial...
I know the delivery method and uptake process are different, but ultimately as they both help my brain release norepinephrine and
dopamine
, won't the result be the same? Or is it less mathematical than that?

Dopamine agonist withdrawal
Anyway , now I have been off the
dopamine
agonists for 3 weeks. It is pure hell., day and night. My dr is really trying to help me but I know he is looking it all up on the web as I sit there. I offered my book by Dr Buchfuhrer and he just handed it back to me,.

Dopamine vs Dopamine agonist. May someone explain the technical mechanism of action in the brain? Pros/Cons of these therapy methods?
Effectiveness of each method and how it compares. What about side effects? Which one is less harmful?

MY STORY sad but true
There has been some damage to my brain in that it is under functioning/over functioning in the
dopamine
department and sending messages to various nerve centers. This is totally a layman's explanation but you get the gest . So after a sleep study I will be on Opiates to help get off the ropinirole.

The Safety of Being a Social Smoker
This prompts the release of a hormone called
dopamine
.
Dopamine
is called the "feel good" hormone because it causes pleasurable sensations in the brain. The sense of well-being that washes over smokers after taking a puff or two off a cigarette is due to
dopamine

PD Mechanics: Cause of Resting Tremors
The substantia nigra, a region of the brainstem that produces
dopamine
, does not function as it should in PD, resulting in low levels of active
dopamine
. Studies have shown that the fall in overall
dopamine
levels begins years before the onset of PD symptoms.

It's fall, time again for Howard. We have dopamine in our brains however the key to unlock its use has been lost.

On/Off period caused by Sinemet. Anyone taking dopamine agonist and/or MAO inhibitors experience on/offs?
I found in the web an interesting info about a disclaimer contained in the package insert of Sinemet distributed in Australia. It warns as a “side effect the on/off periods may occur to some people after one year use where people may lose their ability to move from minutes to hours then can move again

It is to see how much
dopamine
there is in the brain. Has anyone else had this done ?? She couldn’t say if the findings would help so he is sceptical about having it done.
