Aggressive CRPC
He completed 6 doses of
docetaxel
- with very little side effects. We found out 2 months later his PSA went up and cancer spread further in his bones. Doctor put him on Zytiga and in just one month his PSA went from 31 to 688.

Is docetaxel working
Just had my 5th
docetaxel
treatment last Thursday and the doctor said I’m going to be doing 10 treatments and not 6 like I originally thought. My psa has been fluctuating from 11 to 9.5. I’m wondering how well this is working.

Only early chemo? Or early abiraterone too?
He has undergone 6 cycles of
Docetaxel
chemotherapy plus ADT as per the standard of care here in the UK. PSA down to 0.2. My question is, do people think it is worth pushing for the possibility of also adding abiraterone early (i.e. pre castrate resistance).

I went through a course of chemotherapy with
docetaxel
(aka, Taxatere) and about a year after the initial diagnosis also underwent 5 SBRT treatments at 7 Gy to the prostate, because of age and lack of comorbidities. I have used various phytochemicals during ADT and radiation therapy as adjuvants.

What next after chemo fails
Last October he started chemo (
Docetaxel
) but PSA continued to rise and after 4 cycles oncologist said it was not working and changed to Cabazitaxel. PSA dropped after the first few cycles but then began to rise after cycle 4 and 5, PSA currently 20.

Radiation v Surgery
Treated with usual ADT and 6 infusions of
Docetaxel
. PSA undetectable after 5th chemo. Bone scan shows no new Mets. CT scan shows pelvic tumor now just a bulge on prostate gland. Dr. Agreed that we could try to eradicate the visible cancer.

Hi Ladies,
My name is Jules. I found out I had breast cancer in sept 17, I had 6 rounds of chemo, docetaxol and EC which shrunk the tumour, then I had a therapeutic mammoplasty and lymph node removal. A Routine CT scan followed and then came the news in March that it had moved to my bones, spine, pelvis, hips.

Slow recovery from Chemo, Round 4, Session 2
So beginning of December he decided to go back to
Docetaxel
for ten cycles, but my blood work was so bad (rbc around 5.5) I had to have two separate transfusions of packed red cells two weeks apart just to get the count up over 9.

Medication questions
Lastly, I have developed some mild numbness in my fingertips as a result of the
Docetaxel
. Will this resolve after I stop Chemo, and if so, how long will it take? All I got from doctor is maybe in 6 months.
