No end to Docetaxel?
So my question is how many of you are on
docetaxel
for "as long as we can"? And what number round are you on? Does it physically get harder? Or just steady state as it is now for round 4?

Looks like I've moved into castrate resistance territory. What next?
I had
Docetaxel
from March to June. I'm not happy PSA is now rising with castrate level of testosterone. I know Abiraterone and enzalutamide are in my future, but I'm reaching out for thoughts and comments.

Finished upfront Docetaxel
My husband finished
Docetaxel
in August. His PSA has gone from 1044 in January to 6 at last test. CT scans show that all his lymphnodes in his pelvic area have markedly gotten smaller. However he is have increasing rib pain. We go today to review an MRI and speak with a radiation oncologist.

Info for my brother
Just finished the fourth dose of
docetaxel
. Tests show it is not working, so it is being discontinued. Onc wants to try xtandi now. Also mentioned that there is one other chemo drug to try (assuming it is cabazitazel).

STAMPEDE Trial: Adding Abiraterone Acetate or Docetaxel Plus Prednisone to ADT.
However, the design means that abiraterone was given to progression whereas
docetaxel
was given as short course at start of therapy, meaning
docetaxel
patients had more salvage options at relapse, including
docetaxel
rechallenge.

Newbie to the group.
I started on lupron and then a course of
Docetaxel
chemo. 12 months on my PSA is 0.8 and seems stable. For anyone in the UK look up Maggies centres they offer great support for anyone with cancer. No appointment necessary just drop in.

Abraxane -chemo used in Ireland for O.C.?
It seems it is a type of taxol drug but carried into the body via albumen, where as the paclitaxel &
docetaxel
are dissolved in solvent.

These were mCRPC men "not progressing during first-line
docetaxel
-based therapy." "The median OS was not reached because only 14 deaths occurred by the cut-off date." "Maintenance tasquinimod therapy significantly reduced the risk of {radiographic progression-free survival} by 40%."

Enzalutamide and Curcumin
I was immediately put on three-monthly injections of Triptorilin (decapyptyl) and soon started a six infusion course of
docetaxel
. This brought my PSA down to a low of 0.55 twelve months ago. Since then my PSA has been creeping up and with it now at 2.28 I have just been prescribed Enzalutamide.

Axumin Scan
Before beginning
Docetaxel
chemo, my Med Onc has recommended an Axumin PET scan. Anyone out there had any experience with this latest, greatest scan?

APC story of my dad
His PSA was dropped to 0.3 after 6 cycles of
Docetaxel
. He spent 6 months without a major health problem after chemotherapy. But then, his PSA increased to 1 after 6 months and jumped to 3.8 in another month. The metastases was spread further to other bones.
