Request to see an EP
Having met some resistance from my GP re my request for repeat visit to Cardiology "ablation not without risk you know" I went back after taking myself off Adizem (bad reaction) to have another go at him. I was surprised that a much younger GP was taking his surgery; he seemed to be much more clued up

Beta blocker or calcium channel blocker?
I've been on Bisoprolol for over two years. Started at 2.5mg but the dose was fairly promptly raised to 5mg/day. It seems to be keeping my heart rate down but I think of it as my "devil drug" since I get very very tired several times almost every day. Saw an EP for the first time last week and he suggested

Does anyone have atrial fibrillation?
Been taking flecainide for a while and recently also
Dilzem
. Waiting for catheter ablation and warfarin clinic to commence. In the meantime I had the thyroid glands removed completely. Initially I was prescribed T3 which sent me into the worst ever episode of AF.

Are rate control drugs necessary when heart rate is within a "normal range" although AF is 24/7?
For the first time in something like 6 years I have begun to experience some breathlessness and fatigue, previously I have been asymptomatic. GP took me off Bisoprolol and put me on Adizem-XL instead (I also have Warfarin and Losarten). I had to stop the Bisoprolol for a few days before starting the

Swollen Feet and Ankles
I am on
Dilzem
XL capsules and they certainly have improved my breathing but I really have very swollen feet and ankles. The leaflet inside the box says one in ten people suffer with swollen feet whilst taking this drug.
