I am starting Diltiazem(Dilzem) for the Raynaud's. Does anyone else take this medication? Does it work well and are there any side effects?

Hi!

I have been on Diltiazem for 6 years. When I first started taking it i would turn really red in my neck and head area...it was kind of annoying; however, it seems to have lessoned through the years...i rarely turn red now. I was first put on Diltiazem when my heart doc determined I had a vaso-spasm. How it was determined I had such a spasm was a series of heart tests and chest pain. I haven't had a vaso-spasm in my heart since. I am faithful to take this med as spasms in the heart can be dangerous.

I don't notice any other side affects.

Best wishes with this medicine.

I also have seen a nutritional m.d., drcolbert.com. He has nutritional help for our conditions, like scleroderma and reynauds. A lot of medicines treat symptoms; however nutrition, when directed by an m.d. like Dr. Colbert, can result in restoration!

Blessings,

Debbie

Thanks for your help. I will check out the web adddress. Best wishes Nuala

I have been on diltiazem for years with no side effects. The only time I am told not to take it is if I go into hospital for Iloprost infusions as it lowers the blood pressure.

I took it for about 6 months but it made me extremely dizzy so I stopped taking it.
