Started to feel a little better after 10 days, ventricular ectopics stoped but still feeling fragile at times. Can now go to supermarket and short walks. Bisoprolol and Digoxin now stoped for 9 days (only on Rivaroxiban), may still be feeling withdrawn symptoms in that I may be getting Atrial ectopics which catch my breath (not as powerful as Ventricular ectopics) and have slight funny headed spell when getting up. Heart rate can increase for no apparent reason to 95 bpm (still in NSR) for a few seconds then go back down to 68. Since stopping medication resting heart rate has increased by around 20 bpm and BP increased to around 160/85 from 113/60. I would say that Heart rate and Bp increase too quickly on exertion but do calm down on rest. In short I am getting there slowly, taken longer than I had hoped but may be about right for the trauma the heart has suffered. Just do not understand why the EP said I would by good as new within the week following the ablation. I would be really grateful if anyone else has had similar conditions after their ablation or could comment on my current condition.

ABLATION PLUS 2 WEEKS
Hi,
glad you are doing well.
Keep your eye on the BP, now that you have taken bisoprolol out of the mix you may need some help.
As a FYI, it sounds very much like my recovery journey.
Now, almost 2 years on I still have palpitations that take my breath away, and the odd run of SVT that can come out of nowhere. But I remain in NSR, and that's good enough for me
Thank you its good to know that my recovery is what should be expected. Yes I am keeping an eye on my BP as the Doc has told me to start taking Bisopopolol (starting at 1.25) if it gets too high, only problem is gauging what too high actually is, right now I am guessing its around 190/95 and heart rate of over 90.

sounds high to me I'm afraid. I'd talk to your GP
Thank you, yes it is high but I understand that coming off Bisoproplol can make it high for a period, especially after being on it as long as I have. Something to do with adrenaline receptors needing time to normalise. The question I cannot get straight in my head is when is high too high and need to start the Bisoprolol. If I can remain in NSR without it then great, if I start the arrhythmia when my heart is still recovering then I have messed it up and will suffer. Don't know the answer but will try to objectively balance my condition with the drugs best I can. My resting rate this evening is 135/78 so it looks like its getting better but anything can happen as you know.
Niether do I. This is why we produced our Recovering From Ablation fact sheet so people understand that they are normal and not to over do things. It can take three to six months for full recovery as we state.
9 days post ablation, still getting lots of AF (more than I had prior to the procedure) in between the bouts feel pretty good and can manage a reasonable walk. I don’t think that the discharge process and the info given by the hospital is all it could have been.
Good luck with your recovery👍🏻
Thank you for your reply, yes the fact sheet on this forum is much more accurate in describing the recovery process. Regarding your AF perhaps this starts because you are doing too much too soon. I found that my irregularities started after exertion and did not present when idle. Now building up my stamina Very slowly and this seems to work better. All the best in your recovery.
