Lockdown , Alcohol equals A Fib
My second ablation was 1 1/2 years ago , and I felt great until 2 weeks ago . Thanks to my Apple Watch I know exactly when my heart popped out of NSR . I’m back in persistent 135 bpm all day every day . Boy - is it tiring ! Breathless climbing stairs , bloated stomach, listless, little sleep. I’m back

Replacement for Digoxin
I have been advised that I should be taking something to reduce the strain on my heart from permanent af. Digoxin did not work for me as it made me incredibly tired all the time. Can anyone recommend something that does not produce that side effect. (My heartbeat is usually a bit fast)

Had Ablation on Wednesday
My flutter ablation seems to have gone well. So glad I had a general anaesthetic, I think I’m still traumatised from the previous “sedation” ablation a few years ago. The EP tells me that I was in flutter when I went into the Cath Lab and was in sinus rhythm when I came out, so that’s good enough for

How often should you see your GP for irregular heartbeat?
Hi everyone, Looking for some advice. In Nov 2019 my mother was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat. She's had numerous different tests and is on various medications, namely bisoprolol, digoxin and edoxaban. They never got to the bottom of the cause and haven't been in touch with her about any of it

Best Time To Take Diltiazam (viazem XL)
Hi I normally take my meds within 1 hour of waking up in the morning which are Apixaban,Fostair 100/6 and Digoxin which has now been replaced with Diltiazem. I do not have breakfast normally so all meds are on a empty stomach apart from cups of T. I was reading one bit of advice which said you can take

Digoxin No Longer To Be Taken.
Hi All. Since I was diagnosed with AF in August I have been on 125Mg of Digoxin once a day and to be honest I have felt lot better. No more thumping of heart in chest and no side effects, I was diagnosed with iron anaemia just over 4 months ago and have now stopped the pills. The latest blood test said

Pace and Ablate for Persistent A fib - Your Experiences?
Hi Whilst in hospital over Christmas, it was decided upon a pace and ablate for my a fib which is now persistent and has given me cardiac decompensation. However, there was a U turn and the consultants decided to try me on further drugs and give them a bit of time first. I was discharged on 10 mg bisoprolol

Has anyone been given Adenosine?
I have had a spell in hospital between Christmas and New Year with rapid AF and was administered intravenous Adenosine. The doctor who gave it said “It will make you feel like s**t, I mean really s**t. You will think you are going to die.” He was right. Moreover, it didn’t work. Since I was given

Finally home-Happy New Year to you all
Finally got out late evening yesterday and very relieved to be home. Plenty of rest today although my blood pressure keeps dropping low. I hate these drugs but am hoping my body adapts. I have normal blood pressure without drugs so they were worried in controlling my rate, it may drop too low. Currently

Feeling a little lost.
I’m new to AF and could really do with a bit of support. I had been unwell for some time. Struggled all year to lose weight but zilch came off. I was getting bigger. End of November I was admitted to A&E unable to breath when lying down and was panting. (Had been getting breathless when walking) Pulse

Heart Failure and permanent af
, Hiya all, I have heart failure and feel it might be getting worse as I am really tired and sleeping half the day away. Is there any procedure to help heart failure? I have been told I am lucky as don't have any blocked or furred up tubes but feel that people who have procedures seem to have better

AF Story
Hi everyone, I thought I'd share my story so far to help anyone who is having a difficult time with similar issues. I'm 36 years old, male, 6ft and 13 stone with a slim and athletic build. I've always enjoyed all sports including cycling and running. I don't smoke but do enjoy a few beers at weekends
