fatty liver
I havnt been told how much fat is on my liver but have read the liver can reverse the fat on it with a low fat diet?
I have Cirrosis of the liver , having watched many documentaries and healthy eating I am under the impression that fatty liver can be reversed with a gjood healthy diet . Maybe ask to see a dietitian ? 😊
Thanks Millie09
Your welcome . I found eating healthy alternatives although slightly more expensive it was well woth it . I only have almond milk , herbal and green teas , good quality de caff coffee that was suggested to me on here by a good member , no white potato only sweet in moderation , gluten free brown rice . Lots of fresh veg , beetroot is good for the liver too . Fish , not batter or breadcrumb coating . Sugar free water flavored as hydration is important , yes like me I have my naughty days at the weekend but even that I cook all my own fresh curry , using quorn chicken as this is high in protein and low in fat . Fruit too , my list is endless. I could Honestly say my change of diet no Smoking ( packed up 2 yrs ago and no alcohol after my blip when dad passed in 2012 . I have never felt so healthy . My only downfall is anxiety , bad insomnia and depression . If you need any help them you can always message me .. Regards Linda X
Hi,
You may find The British Liver Trust publication on diet and liver disease helpful, here is the link;

The advice to speak with a registered hospital dietician is quite right, you can obtain a referral via your liver specialist or GP.
There are some special considerations you may need to make in your diet to stay nutritionally well and to help to manage your condition. Some of these are specific to certain liver diseases, others relate to how advanced the liver disease is.
Before commencing any new diet we recommend you discuss it with your specialist and hospital dietician, best of luck with your operation this week,
Best wishes,
Rebecca
