Avoiding dialysis with natural approaches
Hi everyone! I’m new to this community. I was hoping to find people who have reversed end stage renal disease and/or diabetes naturally. My mom’s latest GFR was 17 and she’s between a rock and a hard place. Her doctor keeps increasing her lasix, knowing it can cause kidney damage. When she tries to get

PD -what are the cons (everyone talks about the pros) other than infection?
I prefer Peritoneal
Dialysis
over Hemo and talked to several Kidney advocates and nurses. All talk about the pros compared to Hemo. Except for infection I have not heard many other risks or discomforts from direct patients.

I am my husband’s care giver and I don’t normally share
My husband has been on
dialysis
for years and will always be on
dialysis
. He has many health issues but the most frustrating thing for him is not being able to control his bowels well. It’s embarrassing for him and a mess for both of us. Rock hard stool one day and runny mess the next.

93 days in hospital with covid - 19 and finally home!
He will still need
dialysis
as an outpatient until further notice and a biopsy on his kidneys at some point. The doctors have said he is the most durable man they have ever met and is a walking miracle.

My brother needs a kidney and advice
Now that one is failing and him needing
dialysis
is happening faster than we thought. He keeps referring to a transplant as a temporary fix. It makes me sad like he has already resigned to dying from this too. The list where we are is very long.

COVID, Internal Bleeding/ multi organ failure and coma
She is having
dialysis
every couple of days. Liver is not working although some enzymes were showing slight improvement. Her skin is yellowish. She is still on the ventilator without sedation. Due to the coma, she isn’t bothered by it.

Living on a narrowboat
I am likely to start on
dialysis
some time this year and was going to opt for peritoneal
dialysis
. Does anyone have any idea if this is viable on a narrowboat? I would be considering the overnight
dialysis
, not continual. Many thanks for any thoughts.
