Recovery is Possible - Assuming You Know What's Really Wrong... Part 5 - Symptoms vs Tests – Oestrogen Dominance
As my
DHEA
levels are compromised (see previous blog on Adrenals for more) production of sex hormones has to be out of whack. Back to symptoms. The PMT symptoms got worse over time but I didn’t really register (think frog in water that’s being heated up slowly.)

DHEA - what would cause it to be so low?
I know people can supplement
DHEA
etc but I dont really want to explore that in this post- I just really want to understand first of all what would cause
DHEA
to remain suppressed despite improvements on all other tests. Could T4 suppress
DHEA
levels? Could any medication reduce
DHEA
levels?

I've stopped taking T4 and just using T3 - so why do I feel so bad?!?!
I did adrenal saliva test to confirm I do have weak adrenals and
DHEA
is on the floor. I am currently on 140mg of T4 and 40 mg of T3.

Recovery is possible - assuming you find out what's REALLY wrong...
Every cortisol and
DHEA
measurement across 12 hours was below the minimum range. I've never 'failed' a test so badly!!! Basically stress had done its job. And guess what - there's a little thing called the adrenal-thyroid axis - cortisol affects the thyroid.

Feeling desperate -where am I going wrong on T3 and T4
I am talking to the private doctor I see who wants to run some more tests and believes I may need
DHEA
and Pregnenolone. That may well help. But am I on too much or too little T3 and T4. Shoud I cut the T4 and concerntrate on T3.

Recovery is Possible - Assuming You Know What's Really Wrong... Part 4 - Symptoms vs Tests - The Immune System Piece of the Puzzle
Addison’s Disease (adrenals – anti-adrenal cortex Abs) lead to compromised cortisol and
DHEA
production Summary Hashimoto’s doesn’t necessarily travel alone. So if you’ve got it, it’s worth checking for other auto-antibodies because they may explain symptoms.

first blood results on armour!! Anyone help?
TSH- 4.73 (0.15-3.2) T4 free- 6.7 (9.9-20.1) T3 free- 5.1 (2.7-7.0)
DHEA
- 2.5 (1.0-11.7) (im taking
DHEA
15mg a day) it was below range and ive just come in to range. I have read somewhere that TSH doesn't feature when on Armour and FT3 is the one but how about FT4?

Chronic Dehydration and hypo? Link to cortisol? Pituitary function tests listed - any ideas? Please jump in and comment!
I've tried alkalizing drops, dessicated adrenal support and
DHEA
. And no matter what type (T4, NDT or T3) or dose level of thyroid replacement I take it does not alter. Reading an old nursing book got me thinking.

Adrenal test results; very grateful for advice
DHEA
levels sample 2 inside range, 0.22 sample 3 low; 0.14. DHEA:cortisol ratio 0.86, which is within range. I have been told that 'Stress analysis and adrenal support and restorative measures are exceedingly important', and to recheck after 1 month.

On Armour 2 months was feeling good but not so much now
From previous blood tests My
DHEA
was low (im on
DHEA
15mg pharma grade to sort this out) Vit D was very low 17.9 (now taking D3 2000iu a day) B12 was 547 (ref range ng/L 191-663) Doctor said nothing of this but i have read that new reference ranges would put me at the lower end of scale.

T4 out - T3 in. Am I recovering?
Adrenals were not so bad, cock eyed as to times of highs and lows but
DHEA
had dropped off the scale. Suffering with rt3 (High). That was in October 2012. I stopped T4 and NT straight away. In November I stopped NAX. This was on Paul’s advice and went against Dr.

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy
But after a year or so the doc, on the basis of a saliva/hormone analysis/ moved me to a pill form of bioidentical hormones which included
DHEA
, estriol and estradiol. I did not feel as well. When I shared this with him he insisted that this new formulation was what I should be on.

Eltroxin makes me feel terrible
TSH 8.9, T4 19, T3 5.6.
dHEA
1.8. Having done a bit of research I asked my consultant about natural thyroid or T3 and he said he would not prescribe under any circumstances. So I now have a box of eltroxin and I feel terrible.
