pneumonia vax
Since being diagnosed with bronchiectasis I have been given an appointment for a pneumonia vaccination. I’ve never had one before, is it likely to make me feel ill?

I have posted my results before from Medichecks and I persuaded my youngest daughter to take the thyroid and vitamin test recently due to her symptoms of lethargy and the fact that not only I have hypothyroidism but also her Dad and older sister. Her iron plus Vit D were all low so she is now taking

Thyroid nodules surgery survey (BTF)
Posting this because helping with research is often a good idea. However, there are only three days to go! I've only just noticed it and have not gone through what they are asking for. [i]

I want to understand what happened to me.
I stopped taking levothyroxine for a month because I wasn’t feeling any improvement at all. Then, I went back on it with a high dose of 100 mcg and felt a quick improvement. I had a lot of energy, and the brain fog disappeared. But, this improvement only lasted for 24 hours. I then increased the dose

Hashimotos & FT3. Advice needed - Rock bottom - About to try Thybon (poor FT4- FT3 conversion).
Hi Everyone, I have been supported a lot by this community already. Thank you. I am a 39 year old male, living in Ireland. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2019. I started Eltroxin at that time. I started on 25mg, and increased to 50mg at the start of 2023. I generally eat well, and exercise

Recently diagnosed with IPF (August 2024)
Hi, Leading up to the recent diagnosis via CT scan I had had a dry cough for 16 weeks, coming about from a viral chest infection, leading to a bacterial infection 4 weeks later when the GP prescribed antibiotics. The cough persisted afterwards, and 2 weeks ago got worse making even light exercise difficult

Buprenorphine
Hello, have many UK people found it easy or hard to get Buprenorphine px by GP to control pain from RLS? I have been withdrawing from Pramepexole and using only codeine however it is now not effective in controlling my pain. I have a GP appointment in a few days and was going to ask for Buprenorphine

Well we're back to the Endo to be told we're trying Stop and Block again.
some may remember my thyroid story as it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm still a regular reader of posts. Tuesday the day all meds are being stopped. I refused the op to remove my thyroid and have it burned out through the great advice in here plus I wasn't keen on having a op at my age either

changes
I have underactive thyroid and have been stable for years. Recently I had some routine bloods which showed very low thyroid levels. My meds were increased but I still feel dreadful. Repeat bloods are just above normal. The only changes I can recall making is when I moved last year and the new pharmacy

Change in inhalers
I'm currently on sertide and being switched over to symbicort. I'm not sure of the dosage etc as need to discuss further with gp. I'm a little concerned as been on seretide for years. When I get switched it triggers flares and I've already had loads of time of work. I work part time. I also think I'm

Dosage question.
I was diagnosed with Graves and overactive thyroid forty four years ago. I had a thyroidectomy and started on synthetic thyroid hormone therapy. I’m 69 now and take 100 mcg of Levothyroxine daily, my TSH is 0.291, low. What dose should I be taking?

British Thyroid Foundation ?
Came across this https://www.btf-thyroid.org/thyroid-function-tests#tft5 when searching for info to try and help with current GP pig headedness. Think I now know some of the reasons why GP is being so closed about discussion. States must keep TSH in range, if below can cause osteoporosis and long

Awful night sweats: hyper, hypo, other - update
Hi. 13 days ago I posted about horrid night sweats https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/149807088/awful-night-sweats-hyper-hypo-other The correct name is generalised hyperhidrosis as the sweats are all over, not just palms, armpits, etc. Back particularly sweaty. This has continued and is affecting

Persistent cough and possible asthma diagnosis
Hello. I’m new here and keen to find out if other people with asthma have experienced the symptoms I have. I have had a persistent cough for about 4 months. Generally I feel a pressure in my chest and lower throat where it feels like a can’t breath. I then cough as this feels like it relieves the pressure
