CA-125
I just finished a 6 month series of gemcitabine and carbo. My oncologist was pleased that I could handle 6 sessions. I ended up having to be admitted to the hospital 3 different times because of the side effects. He agreed with me when I said I wanted to take the summer off from any further treatments

Game-changers: Tips for Managing Chemo Side Effects
OK, so first off, I'm not a medical professional and everything I'm going to mention has been run by my oncologist. You should always check with your doctor before making any dietary changes or adding an alternative therapy to your routine. Please also note, these are things that have help me out over

2 down, 10 to go!
Just finished my second of twelve rounds of Avastin, Gemcitabine, and Cisplatin. So far, so good. Going every two weeks - 4 hours at a clip. Very lucky so far, hair is holding steady. This is excellent because it has just grown back after my last Taxotere/Carbo regiment a year ago. I think I'm going

Nosebleeds
I have uterine cancer that was diagnosed in February, 2017. I started a new regimen of carbo and gemcitabine about 3 months ago. I’ve now started to have nosebleeds. Does anybody else have this issue? And is there anything that you’ve done that helps?

bladder cancer
I have bladder cancer, solid tumor , inoperable. I've had bcg and gemcitabine which has been ineffective. I've had 2 stents in ureters because tumor has pressed on ureters and effected kidney function. I'm 81 years old. No treatment has been offered.

Infusion port
Hi lovely ladies, today is my last chemo (2nd line) of Gemcitabine and Cisplatin. I am so looking forward to having a break from the chemo; must say it was much harder than the first line. The oncologist ordered a scan in about 4 weeks from now, so not sure yet how effective it was. As it became harder

OCTOVA Trial - now open to BRCA negative women
Hi everyone, I had recurrence at Christmas, two thirds of the way through Cisplatin and Gemcitabine, so I am now platinum resistant and lost my chance to get a PARP inhibitor through the CDF. But, lucky timing, my recurrence coincided with the OCTOVA Trial being opened up to BRCA negative women. This

Hello ladies.
Hi lovely ladies. I’ve not been here for a while. Been hiding away. How are you all? How are you all dealing with this crappy disease? I’m still being drained every other day and my syringe driver is changed every day. I’ve not had cisplatin for many weeks. My creatinine levels are too high. Seems

Overthinking or not?
Following diagnosis (Stage 3) I had carbo / taxol and surgery. All went well after treatment finished But after 3 mths there were a few nodules showing on my peritoneum so had Caelyx but that didn’t do anything so now on Gemcitabine. CA125 has dropped but talking to a friend whose partner recently passed

In, out... in, ?
Went into Christie's as an emergency a week last Monday -things moved fast that day, ascites drainage and onto Ward 14 later that day. Was supposed to have a clinic appointment following day but told that someone would come and see me. Hubby went along at 5 to find all shut down and gone home.

Dexamethasone tremor & confusion
Hi, has anyone else had tremor and confusion on dexamethasone? Have any alternatives been offered? I am taking this at infusion with cisplatin and gemcitabine but not as follow on as in first line I experienced a manic depressive episode which is identified as a steroid side effect if you have bipolar

Battling ovarian cancer (recurrance)
Hi, My name is Grace and I am new here. After the 1st hysterectomy and debulking, followed by a round of chemo (carboplatin and paclitaxel), I was in remission for 11 months. A CT and PET scan then showed some nodules. These were removed by a key hole surgery and I am currently receiving chemo again,

Tastebuds
Thank you for your replies to my Gemcitabine query very helpful. My next query is less worrying but very annoying since I started treatment last year I have had a definite change to my sense of smell and taste and being a real ‘foody’ I found this to be one of the more frustrating sides of this whole

Netupitant - any experiences?
Hi everyone, as ondansetron didn't do the trick for me with nausea on my first cisplatin and gemcitabine treatment, I have now been prescribed netupitant. Symptoms all mixed up now
Hi everyone I feel in a mess and a muddle at the moment... After the Rotterdam Regime which finished mid May ( which did give me some remission) my appetite gradually diminished until now I am scarcely able to eat a third of my normal intake. My energy levels have plummeted so most of my time is now
