I just finished a 6 month series of gemcitabine and carbo. My oncologist was pleased that I could handle 6 sessions. I ended up having to be admitted to the hospital 3 different times because of the side effects. He agreed with me when I said I wanted to take the summer off from any further treatments, although I have blood work every week to check my levels. This week was the first test to check my CA-125 and it went

from 32 to 29. Right or wrong I’m devastated. I had so hoped it would have at least stayed the same. Anybody else going through this? By the way I have Stage IV uterine cancer, diagnosed in February, 2017. Thank you. 🧡

Hello Deb,

I am wondering if you made a typo putting in your CA-125 levels.

Going down from 32 to 29 is a good thing.

Also, this forum is for Ovarian Cancer, and although both are pelvic, they might not get the same treatment options.

I hope you get a good holiday and successful treatment.

Best wishes,

Laura

I did make a mistake. I apologize. My CA-125 went from 32 to 39. Thank you.

That is disappointing. I was left with a level of 15 after second line, but I had expected it to go to single digits, as it did after first line.

I am on Niraparib now and getting my first check up on Monday. I am hoping for a better score this time.

Best wishes,

Laura
