How prostate cancer transforms into aggressive NEPC following treatment with anti-androgen therapy.
The findings also indicated that an FDA-approved drug that inhibits epigenetic changes, called
decitabine
, could hold promise as a treatment for NEPC.

GemCarbo and picc line advice please!
Hi ladies, I've seen my oncologist today (well, one of his minions anyway) to find out about my treatment plan for my first recurrence. They've told me that I'll have gemcitabine with carboplatin this time round, so I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about this regime please? Even though carbotaxol

Carboplatin and gemcitabine
hi , has anyone had the combination of Carboplatin and gemcitabine . This may be my next course of treatment with Carboplatin plus gemcitabine one week, then gemcitabine only the second week with the 3rd week off. Gemcitabine seems to have some nasty side effects!!! I’d appreciate any comments .

Stage 4 OC — Deposits on liver
Hi ladies! Could do with a bit of advice, as am spiralling a bit. For context, my Mum (54) was diagnosed with HGS stage 3c/4a OC in Jan 2022. BRACA gene negative. Immediately started three rounds of chemo, then had optimal debunking surgery and full hysterectomy, and continued with three more rounds

Chemo in Tablet Form
Morning everyone I was diagnosed with high grade serous ovarian cancer in 2020. I have gone through all the various chemo treatments available (pacitaxol, carboplatin, Caelyx, Gemcitabine, Niraparib and a trial. I was hoping to go on another trial but due to plural effusion, collapsed lung etc unfortunately

Gemcitabine and Avastin (no Carbo)
Hi everyone! For my mom's second recurrence, the doctor suggested Gemcitabine and Avastin without Carbo, as she got kidney issues and potential liver mets with the last regimen with Carbo+Caelyx. Has anyone used Gem and Avastin without Carbo? Was it effective? Did you have any side effects? Thank

Ravid Straussman & the Tumor Biome
I was reading an article about the tumor biome, and how bacteria & fungi may have a role in treatment resistance. I thought it might be interesting to review the work of Ravid Straussman at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel [1]. [2] (2017): Growing evidence suggests that microbes can

Update on swollen legs/feet
Hi, I posted 2 days ago that I was experiencing swollen legs and feet and was unsure if it was due to GSF injections. Had bloods done today prior to seeing oncologist. He felt the swelling was due to Gemcitabine. Apparently it is a common side effect!Only trouble now is my platelets are only 35, so

bowel obstruction
It looks like there’s no more options for me as I’ve been in hospital for a week with a bowel obstruction. HGSOC 3C. Had 2 lines chemo close together. Just had Carbo/gemcitabine but it made me so ill. Now I’m just waiting to see what happens. No food or drink. Any hints you brave ladies?

Have you been on Gemcitabine (Gemzar)?
Hello, I am starting Gemcitabine tomorrow and am wondering if anyone has advice on this chemo? Is it well tolerated? A nurse told me today I should get a port, my Oncologist said I should be fine without one. I had a terrible time with Enhertu and extreme nausea, I’m hoping this drug won’t be as hard

antibiotics while on chemo?
Hello, ladies. I am on cisplatin and Gemcitabine (Gemzar) and have developed an infection near an ancient root canal that I believe has finally failed. Has anyone safely taken a basic antibiotic such as amoxicillin while on this chemo combo? I have emailed my oncologist, but it’s just 6:00 am here,
