Invasive and non‐invasive brain stimulation in Parkinson's disease: Clinical effects and future perspectives
Deep brain stimulation (
DBS
) can improve motor symptoms in moderate to advanced PD. However, the optimal stimulation paradigm for non‐motor symptoms, freezing of gait and the optimal timing of
DBS
are still under investigations.

Blood from bottom
Hi all, I have my first lap in a week, to diagnose and treat endo. Had pain in lower left pelvic area and back for five years on and off and also bowel problems. I’ve been losing blood from back passage, bright red, does anyone else suffer this?

DBS for essential tremors?
I'm new to this site and am considering
DBS
. Has anyone had
DBS
(deep brain surgery) for essential tremors of hands, head (cervical dystonia) and voice? What result? My neurologists say it will help with my shaky head. I know
DBS
helps shaky hands, it's my shaky head that is annoying!

Help. Explosive episodes of anger. Is this dementia?
She also has a
DBS
and the dr adjusted it about 2 months ago. We don’t know what is going on. The sinimet seems to increase the intensity of the episodes. My dad wants to have her hospitalized and possibly placed in a nursing home at this point.

DBS, has anyone considered this procedure to help with tremors?
I am scheduled to have this procedure next month. I have heard some good things from some PD patients and would like to hear other PD patient’s prospective. My diagnosis was in early 2018. Right hand tremor, now taking 25/100 x 3 (3 times/day), my procedure will be on my left side. Meds work, but tire

Colofac versus Buscopan
I found Buscopan really helped my IBS (wind on left hand side and pain plus general feeling ill) but the GP said it had been associated with dementia so I stopped. I’m thinking of trying Colofac as peppermint capsules don’t seem to help. Anyone found Colofac helpful?

Help! My legs are swollen all the time.
I was diagnosed 17 years ago and had
DBS
on my left side to control my tremor in my right arm/hand in 2010. I am scheduled for
DBS
on June 3rd to make my symptoms on the left side behave. The swelling in my legs is terrible.

Another FUS news. Now from Isreal . Looks like it's replacing DBS
The firm obtained US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for its technology in 2016, based on a clinical study of 76 patients, which demonstrated that the treatment is effective and safe. A three-year follow-up of the same group of patients showed that tremor reduction was sustained over a period

Anyone that has had
DBS
, would you please share your experience? I’m highly considering starting the approval process. I’m 45, dx in 2008, and have exhausted medication options. I’ve tried diet, exercise, HDT.

Another Question about DBS
I’ve been following the latest discussions about
DBS
. It makes me feel hopeful. However, I have a pacemaker already and am wondering if that would disqualify me as a candidate. Has anyone ever heard anything about this? I plan to ask my MDS, but I don’t see him again until next January.
