Does anyone undergone for DBS,

1. After DBS also should take medicine

2. Any side effects

3. How long it will take to recover post surgery

4. What is the IPG machine using, which machine is good

1. Still take medicine, but you will take less.

2. Side effects are different for everyone.

3. It can take from 1-6 months to recover.

My understanding it is most effective with tremor.

Yes I have had dbs done last year now on half meds’ no side effects. Feel good lucky to have it done. Helps with tremor and stiffness. Hope that helps. NHS uk very good to me.

If your doctor excellent (and he/she should be). Follow instructions, ask questions.

1. I take none but that is unusual

2. None that I am aware of

3.Very quick recovery. I was in overnight

4. I have Medtronic but it is tooo big. I know there are better ones now

Hi I'm signed up for DBS in Sept. I'd like to hear more about the answers you get. I think the biggest question is about the three different companies that have thrown devices. I'm going for the newer technology: either Boston Scientific or Abbott. I am shying away from the 20 yr old Medtronic device.
