Its now five years since my Ivor Lewis operation.
For the last year have been taking
Creon
capsules as I have trouble digesting fats. Lost three stone after surgery down from 15st 6 to 12st 6, within six months was up to 13st then started to lose weight and this has now settled down to around 12st 2lb.

Hi, my GP has prescribed pancrelipasi
creon
. I told him that after nearly two years I am still getting pain in the liver/gallbladder area after having my gallbladder removed. I do not have any digestive problems. So why should I take this?? Does anyone have experience with this??

Can anyone with a legal background explain how it is lawful for nhs gps to ignore specialist recommendations, ie withhold medical care?
Mine obstructs every specialist recommendation eg regular iron infusions, b12 shots every 3 to 4 weeks, NDT,
Creon
for exocrine insufficiency, etc. She is literally putting my health at risk and quite confident in doing so. I have NHS specialist recommendations for all the above (in writing).

NHS GP thick as a brick about coeliac disease, couldn't even figure out how to prescribe g free products
Oh and refused to prescribe ndt despite nhs endo recomendation So i finally got my diagnosis of coeliac, i then had to get my gastro to write to the gp to instruct her to prescribe g free foods and
creon
(which she had also been refusing to prescribe).

Your views on creon? The more natural enzymes are not nearly as strong, but creon contains bad stuff
GP refused to prescribe
creon
but thankfully gastro did. Each tab is at least 3 x more powerful and i'm taking 2 with each meal - been told to take 4 with large meals However i read somewhere - possible on Myhill's site that
Creon
is bad long term since it contains toxins of some sort.

Osteopenia despite weight bearing exercises and calcium supplements for 20 years What can I do to help myself?
NHS GP refuses to prescribe
creon
. I was taking nutrigest but still had undigested food in stools. Gastro told me it’s not nearly strong enough. He prescribed
creon
which I just started but obviously when I run out I’m screwed unless anyone can tell me where to source it without script?

Question for anyone with expertise in employment law or OH
NHS refuses to dose me adequately with B12 so source my own, also refuses to prescribe
creon
for pancreatic insufficiency and also refuses to prescribe ndt which i source myself. So you can see the last thing i need is more hostility. I need to protect myself. Advice would be appreciated.

Those on Creon - did your GP prescribe or did you have to go through a gastro referral first?
My GP has received written advice 2 x from some one more qualified than her that she should prescribe it. I've told her several times i have undigested food in my stools - and i have P. Anaemia, and still she won't do it. She wants a gastro to decide i need it. Everything is such hard work with the

Has anyone had problems related to "pancreatic insufficiency" leading to unplanned weight loss?
I'm now starting a course of pancreatic enzyme replacement tablets (
Creon
) to see if they help with nutrient absorption, but wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar and if it is any way related to APS? Oh - Happy New year everyone as well :D xx
