Does radiation/brachytherapy prevent my use of insulin pump, which radiation can damage?
Do I need to be concerned with radiation impacts on my insulin pump after prostate-area radiation treatment? I’m diabetic and use a Medtronic 670 hybrid insulin pump with a separate continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor/transmitter. To prevent radiation damage to pump and CGM transmitter, I remove

Radiotherapy treatment for VT ( Mail on Sunday article)
It's 08.00 Sunday 16 Feb. I have just read an article in the Mail, via Google, about new radiotherapy treatment in Newcastle for ventricular problems. My computer skills are too poor to attempt to copy this. Please could someone help as it's an interesting development. Many thanks.

Barefoot running
Hi all! I'm starting my C25k in a couple of weeks, when I've finished my radiotherapy. That'll be 10 months in total of cancer treatment and a can't wait to get moving. I've never run before and I've aware that I have a less than ideal gait - I'm a natural heel striker, head leader, long strider...

Radiotherapy? Did you know of the ONGOING effects?
About 33 years ago a mole on the back of my left arm had to be removed due to malignant melanoma ( I had never sunbathed ) Subsequently the glands under my arm were removed and I had aggressive radiotherapy on my shoulder. I was badly burned and the hair & sweat glands under the arm were destroyed. I

Radiate just the prostate when there is extensive lymph node involvement?
When I was first diagnosed a year ago, the radiation oncologist said that he would not radiate me because I had retroperitoneal lymph nodes which were too close to the aorta. He said radiating the prostate alone would do no god since I have extensive lymph node involvement. So I have been on Zytiga +

Rectal douching after EBERT
Wondering what others have experienced and/or been told about rectal douching after radiation therapy. I am assuming this would be dependent on the level of damage done to the rectum by treatment. One book I read said you should never douche after EBERT period. That seemed a bit extreme... I have

Dry but painful
I had a recent diagnosis of bronchiectasis, unfortunately I picked up a virus at Christmas and have been laid low. I saw a consultant yesterday and all seemed ok but I have discomfort and pain in my lungs but produce little or no mucus. I have little energy. The pain is usually around my back/chest area
