I had a recent diagnosis of bronchiectasis, unfortunately I picked up a virus at Christmas and have been laid low. I saw a consultant yesterday and all seemed ok but I have discomfort and pain in my lungs but produce little or no mucus. I have little energy. The pain is usually around my back/chest area. Does anyone else have symptoms like this?
I am due to start radiotherapy for breast cancer and am so worried that more damage could be done to my lungs.

Hi, I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis and asthma last year. I have pain in the central back area particularly after exercising. My consultant couldn't be sure but felt this was due the fact my lungs had to work harder due to the bronch etc and like any damaged muscle this could be painful. I do hope everything goes well with your radiotherapy. Xxxx
All the best in your treatment just mention your concerns to the nurses remember they come across this kind of concern every week with all the different patients they see a day take care xxx
Thank you Christina. I mentioned it when I started but there are weekly reviews. I guess a lack of understanding the process has developed anxiety but at the end of the day I have to put my trust in the professionals. 🤞
I was advised NOT to have radiotherapy for my BC due to the risk of lung Fibrosis. But my cancer was hormone related so I had 5 years on Anastrazole (finished that last year).
