Looking for tips

In January I had emergency surgery to replace my aortic valve (at last) I also had a double bypass and my mitral valve was scrapped all due to radiotherapy nearly thirty years ago. It was touch and go for quite a while but after 8 weeks I was allowed home. My valve is mechanical and during the day it’s fine. However at night all I hear is it ticking away - very reassuring but trying to sleep is another matter. I have played music, meditation stories, sleep lotions and potions but to no avail - anyone out there have any solutions - please

To help me sleep i use a tinnitus relaxer. Its a small music box that plays options of restful sounds, such as waves on a beach, overlaid with white noise. It has a timer so it will switch off after a half hour. Cost about £35. It works for me.Colin
