Hello
We have been contacted by a researcher from Lancaster University called Hilary Stewart about a project called the Gynae Cancer Narratives Project.
They are currently running a project which is exploring patients’ experiences of radiotherapy for gynaecological cancer and want to make sure that the voices of those affected by ovarian cancer are heard as part of the project.
About the project
The research team are looking for participants to take part in a study that explores patients’ experiences of radiotherapy treatment for gynaecological cancer, and who would be interested in recording their experiences. They are also looking for participants who have experience as a carer or as a significant other of someone with gynaecological cancer to record their experiences.
The aim of the study is to increase understanding of how radiotherapy impacts on social, personal and sexual lives. They hope the insights gained from the study will improve future patient experiences of living with the social and personal impacts of radiotherapy. Participation will take place virtually, either online or by telephone, to observe the ‘social distancing’ measures currently in place as part of the COVID-19 response.
The study is funded by North West Cancer Research and has been reviewed and given approval by Lancaster University as Sponsor and the Lancaster University Faculty of Health and Medicine Research Ethics Committee.
More information on the project can be found at wp.lancs.ac.uk/gynae-cancer....
