Modafinil- share your experiences
I’m 48, have had little success with vyvanse,
Concerta
and now Adderall due to side effects. All of these wonderful adhd meds are making me dreadfully tired, tachycardic and adderall is giving me abdominal pains and possibly affecting my urination despite lots of hydration.

Is it normal for Concerta to feel like it's doing nothing?
I have recently switched to
Concerta
, and I feel like I did when I was not medicated. I am usually on a generic brand of methylphenidate, called Teva. That's not available right now, because of supply chain issues, so I am on
Concerta
instead.

QuilliChew savings card?
Hi all, My son is on QuilliChew, which is basically like
Concerta
, just a chewable. There is no generic version, and we have a high-deductible health plan, so we're paying nearly $300/month for this. I'm happy to do it, as it helps him, but if I can save money, I will.

Do short acting or longer acting stimulants work better for your school-related focus needs?
I’ve tried vyvanse and
Concerta
and have found that I never can reach a focus peak with the longer acting stimulant medication- they don’t seem to prescribe Adderall or Dexyamphetamine often where I live, but since I have a tried to take meds around my best focus times- 4-11pm, I still feel that I would

Really tough mornings with 8 yr old
Hello, my son has ADHD and is currently on
Concerta
and Guanfacine which work very well. Before he takes his meds in the morning, he yells, is destructive, swears and goes into mealtdowns over nothing.

Addisons?
(When on
Concerta
he was regularly monitored but now off meds two years). He refuses any help from me at all. Eats badly, abuses weed. I’m in process of getting him out of my house because of it - as in I’ve given him notice to move.

Should I stop taking my medication?
I was officially diagnosed with ADHD inattentive type two weeks ago, and I started taking 18 milligrams of
Concerta
every day. It would take 2 hours for me to feel an effect, and as soon as it did I felt like I was brought to life.

Concerta 36mg
So we put him on
concerta
36mg. His behavior got better but I don’t feel like he really does any work. Does anyone have this problem. He really seems like he doesn’t care if he gets it done or not and I feel like he sits on the computer at school and does whatever.

Elvanse & Concerta XL : Worth persisting?
I switched to
Concerta
XL, same problem. Sweating, dizziness, nausea. I gave up after about 3 days and never returned to the meds. Anyone experienced similar? if so, did you persist? Thanks Mark

Adjusting Meds with Age
Hi Everyone, My nearly 6 year old has been stable on a combination of
Concerta
27mg (ADHD), Celexa 20mg (anxiety), Cyproheptadine 4mg (appetite) and Clonidine .1mg (sleep) for 6 months now. Lately, we've noticed an uptick in hyperactivity and a slight decline in appetite.

Finally diagnosed, but finding actual treatment feels impossible.
I only graduated high school bc I finally got a psych to consider adhd and let me try
Concerta
(not great, but when it worked it worked). Otherwise my days are decided by my caffeine tolerance. I live in Indiana if anyone knows someone.

What meds do you take for bipolar disorder?
I've recently switched from lamotrigine and ziparasidone (started causing tardive dyskinesia) to valproex acid, Latuda, and
Concerta
(a stimulant). But now I feel nauseated all the time and have lost my optimism, and it's been 4 months trying to make these meds work.

How to help my 14yr stop misbehaving during class
He does go to therapy, he takes
concerta
72mg (he is 14yr old, 6ft tall and about 200 lbs) and zoloft 200mg for anxiety. He takes his medicine about 7am and by the end of the day, he doesn't have much medicine left in him, but he refuses to take a booster at school.

Are stimulants suppose to be temporary or lifelong?
When I was on
Concerta
XR I ended up at the highest dosage and it did nothing for me every step of the way. I then got on Adderall 10mg IR and it was amazing for me! I ended up building a tolerance I guess because it went from lasting 6 hours to lasting 3 hours.

14 year old son starting Adderall
He is coming off 36
concerta
, which he has been on since 6th grade. His ADHD has been treated by his pediatrician until yesterday when we had his first psychiatrist appointment. His psychiatrist said that he sees positive benefits with teenagers and adderall.

Has anyone continuously increased their dosage for ADHD meds to the max dose & not feel tolerant to it each time? I'm frustrated.
I'm new to this forum, but I have been on
Concerta
and have been increasing the dose. Some doses my APRN kept me on for months after saying I felt no long lasting effects each time I've taken it.

Using concerts along with natural treatments
We are presently using
concerta
27mg. It has helped with school somewhat but not too much with mood and self regulation at home. Has anyone tried any products like SNAP. Can this be used with
concerta
?
