hello, My 9yr is on
Concerta
for is ADHD which works for everything! The down fall is the lost of appetite when on it, causing us to use cyproheptadine which doesn’t seem to help, does anybody know of a medication, stimulates or non-stimulants where the side effects aren’t lose of appetite?

New to the group and stimulants stop working
Concerta
worked but soon stopped working, and she had mega-adrenaline rushes and tachycardia. Now she's on Vyvanse, propanalol (beta blocker for the tachycardia and anxiety), and she's going to start lamictil as a mood stabilizer. But the Vyvanse stopped working even sooner than the

Medication outside the US
I heard most of the people use Vyvanse, Adderall and
Concerta
. Are those medications WAY BETTER then Ritalin or is Ritalin still a valid option? I'm using Ritalin guys but taking it 2/3 times a day is a joke. Thanks in advance for your help guys

ADHD Guanfacine HCL
My kiddo just received that prescription and after reading about it, I am quite hesitant to have her try it as it is not as straight forward as Vyvanse or
Concerta
. I'm also concerned bc she has been diagnosed with low blood pressure and a side effect can be low blood pressure.

Refusal of meds
She has tried Vyvanse &
Concerta
. Both have given her multiple negative side effects and extreme anxiety/panic attacks. She was in the middle of trying a non-stimulant med. (It takes 4 weeks for it to work & she took it for a week and a half).

Any treatments when meds cause too many side effects
We’ve tried Jornay, Adderal,
Concerta
, intuniv and Strattera for ADHD and all have made her tics more frequent and noticeable. We stopped meds about 3 weeks ago and her tics have returned to being barely noticeable.

13yo Teen Help
Currently he’s only seeing a psychiatrist to monitor his
Concerta
medication. He was on Aripriprazol (antipsychotic) but he stopped as he did not like the side effects in the way it made him feel). We are having huge difficulty parenting him, my husband especially.

using guanfacine for adhd
We switched to
Concerta
which was working during the school day but then in the late afternoon and evening we had many issues with his behavior. We had been giving him a dose in the afternoon but that prolonged his issue with lack of appetite and we could not get him to go to bed.

Do people find a protein breakfast helps with ADHD meds? If so when do you eat, before, with or after?
Hi I was on
concerta
54mg, I found this was too high a dose for me, got a major crash around 3.30 every day and was getting bouts of anxiety throughout the day and constant from about 3pm. I've started elvanse 30mg today to see how I go with that.

9 year old son with Emotional Outbursts
We brought this to the attention of our doctor and they are recommending switching to
Concerta
. Anyone have experience with their child taking this vs taking Guanfacine? He also does some group therapy but it's more geared towards us on parenting strategies and how to manage "big emotions."

CBT and sticking to therapy
I have been on methylphenidate in different forms,
Concerta
, and Ritalin. Currently, I am on a 60mg dose of Ritalin (IR). I started therapy, more specifically Mindfulness-Integrated CBT, 3 months ago. After reading about it, I felt like it could help me.
