our sons doctor just submitted a script for Comcerta. My son was taking adderall and it worked great for about a month with each dosage increase. But now we are at 50 mg a day total and after 6 great weeks all symptoms have returned. Has anyone had success when switching from adderall to concerta for a situation like this?

switching from adderall to Concerta
My son finds Concerta helps with the ADHD, but it takes time to find the right dose. He also can have a bad crash around supper time if he has to do anything stressful. It has the typical side effects of appetite suppressant and some sleep issues, but he also has a rare side effect of Reynauds effects that seem to be the result of the vasoconstriction of the stimulant. At his next appointment we are going to ask about adding Intuniv to his meds, to help with the supper time crash, and possibly counteract some of the Concerta side effects. I'm also going to ask about getting his dose switched from 1 - 36 mg tablet to 2-18 mg tabs. So if he has a long day he can still have some meds in the evening. It is 2 years this month since his diagnosis, so we are still learning.
