Emotional lability and LT ADT
At certain times of extra stress, like awaiting a PSA test result, I have gotten into wrist-slap trouble by making awkward humor and remarks to Clinic staff. They get PO'ed and tattle to my MO. It's really not like me and the latest incident prompted me to look into ADT and emotional SE's. Bingo!

Treatment - radiation vs. surgery
Hello, I posted previously after I was first diagnosed and had some great feedback. I wanted to try once more after being able to spend the past couple of months researching and trying to make the best treatment decision moving forward. For anyone similarly affected, it might help to reflect on what

I was put on
combination

nearly 2 years ago, by my Endio due to low conversion. I take 125 Levo once morning and 20 lio (split over 3 during the day, morning, 5.30 and before bed). I also have high cholesterol at 7.4, has gone down from 8.9, not on statins, I refused.

No difference in SBRT vs conventionally fractionated radiation for intermediate risk patients
6-year update of PACE-B randomized trial continues to show no difference in outcomes. Menopause
This is a post on behalf of my daughter who inherited her rls from me 😒She is peri-menopausal at the moment but thinking about hrt in the future. She has heard stories that some people have had their rls symptoms dramatically worsen when taking hrt. We were wondering if any of you have any thoughts

Newly diagnosed
Hi, this is all very new to me as only been diagnosed with fibro in the last few months. I originally was told about 3yrs ago that all my symptoms were down to being peri- menopausal and put on hrt patches, then changed to different hrt medicines when these didn't do anything. I then saw a different

Diarrhea after 8th IMRT
Hello, We were told one of the side effects of radiation could be diarrhea. My husband has felt the effects after his last 2 treatments. I was reading that the use of strong probiotics like VSL #3 helped patients. Any thoughts on this issue? Did it go away after the first two weeks or did it get worse

What Treatment - Or No Treatment Advice?
I am interested in what would be advised for a fit and active almost 78-year-old, In NED from stage 4 UTUC upper tract urothelial carcinoma. Initial prognosis 6 - 9 months in April 2017. Now only one kidney (GFR 42) No other co-morbidities. Good BMI. Never smoker or drinker. Not on any medication

Insulin
Im reading about Insulin and diabetics are more prone to PCa. What's the consensus on insulin with peeps that already have PCa? Im now on insulin until I can stop L/Z/P, or change to another ADT.

Prostap/tibolone - regal study
Hi all, I'm 1 week into prostap and tibolone as part of the reval study and I'm not coping well. I dont want to be another horror story on the internet so to keep it brief my main concern is constant nausea (but I cant function) and worsened allergies (and I have a history of anaphylaxis as it is).

BCR May Not Be a Strong Surrogate End Point for Prostate Cancer Survival
A new study, below [1] & [2]. In 2004 I came across old studies that showed that ADT promotes changes to the androgen receptor [AR] environment. At diagnosis, the AR is invariably "wild type". When ADT failed, AR gene amplification was common. True mutations were rare. {This was sufficient for

Why the Hesitancy in Recommending Combination T3/T4 Therapy?
Found this recent interview with Antonio Bianco MD PhD from 25 May 2023 https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/989985?ecd=wnl_edit_tpal&uac=308298BV&impID=5466843&faf=1#vp_1 Disappointed that he still regards a "normal" TSH as the overriding consideration before all others...

ADT + darolutamide + docetaxel (ARASENS trial) has anyone tried it?
Hi people! My first update since the diagnosis. After less than one month of regrouping and ADT only (decapeptyl - triptotrelin, which got my PSA from 70 to 15), my MO decided to do the ARASENS trial triplet (with my full approval, I was going to propose him this protocol). Has anyone tried it?

from undetectable to 0.02
I have been undetectable for 3.25 years and today it came back at 0.02. My bio is up to date. We ran the test at the exact same lab as always and in 2 days I am flying back to my Sarasota home from Milwaukee and was wondering which lab is recommended for 2 digit accuracy? I know Labcorp only does 1
