Are stools supposed to be narrow toward the end?
As title says, I have been experiencing narrow stools when I'm about to finish. It's normal shaped at the start though. Should I be worried? I got colonoscopy a few years back as well and it turned out normal.

Capsule endoscopy.
Hi, I had a capsule endoscopy on the 19th of December and with new year and Christmas I expected a wait for the results to come back. I rang my consultant's secretary to find out what was happening. She stated that the consultant would write to me about the results in March! A bit about me. I have

Thyroidectomy
A year ago I had total thyroidectomy and I obviously rely on Levothyroxine 125 mcg. Next Monday I'm due to have a gastroscopy and colonoscopy because of my out of range full blood count and blood in my stool. My question here is how am I to decide when to take my Levo and then my other BP tablets giving

Laparoscopy and uterosacral ligaments
Hi, I had a lap in November and because it was more severe than expected my gynaecologist requested an MRI and a flexi colonoscopy. I have a severe bowel endo but “luckily” no endo directly in my bowel. However my colorectal surgeon told me that he could see on my MRI that I have endo on my uterosacral

Had this a couple of weeks ago following two week referral for blood on stools and nothing found other than a mucosal prolapse which was inflamed, and likely to be the cause of bleeding. I assume I need a referral to a Colo-rectal surgeon for that and will follow up with the GP. But other than that

Suspected B12 deficiency and about to start SI
Hi everyone, I’ve had ID anaemia (microcytic hypochromic) for over 20 years and was told by a GP many years ago that this was due to malabsorption. I’ve had hypothyroidism since 2014, long covid for the past 2 years, and a vax injury from March 2021 that is only just being investigated by rheumatology

My GP wants me to have blood tests...
During a recent appointment for a colonoscopy my GP has insisted I go in for blood tests. However my procedure and outcome for the colonoscopy were fine, but I am asking for a repeat prescription for my B12 (agreed I self inject at home for the last year). I know I will be told I cannot have a repeat

cologuard vs colonoscopy
I’m on watch and wait for about five years now. So far, a most indolent diagnosis. My question is about colon cancer screening. Is the non-invasive cologuard acceptable rather than a colonoscopy? I had a colonoscopy ten years ago and was clean. I’m due again and am wondering about cologuard vs. colonoscopy

Colonoscopies after Salvage SBRT -- How Safe?
My internist has recommended that I get a colonoscopy. But simply to make sure there is no indication of any rectal problems. I have no symptoms of any rectal disease. I had salvage SBRT for prostate cancer nearly a year-and-a-half ago, in late August 2021, There is no indication that the SBRT damaged

Redundant Colon anyone?
Curious as to the cause of my redundant colon, which has developed over the last 2 years, notably since commencing hydroxycarbamide. Last month I had my first colonoscopy and learned of this. I have a very distended belly (bloating) and it looks to be permanent. Should I blame the drug or my age (currently

IBS and swelling abdomen
I had a colonoscopy last Aug. Result was diverticulosis and IBS My concern is my abdomen seems to swell up as the day goes on with pain. Seems the swelling goes down a little after I wake up in the morning. Doctor has not given me a solution to what this is. I've had many scans and tests. Does anyone

Co-morbidities with B12D/PA
Did anyone get any strange or unusual comorbidities around the time of their B12 deficiency or PA diagnosis? I just spoke with the hospital concerning a check-up on my parotid gland - a pleomorphic adenoma I had removed in 2020 along with a co-occurring thyroid nodule removal. They state that they
