Update
Hi all, I'm not sure how many of you are aware but I'll give a brief summary and then an update . I'm 31 years old and was diagnosed with IPF nearly a year ago now, well to cut a very long story short I deteriorated very quickly and in may was placed on the transplant list for a double lung transplant

A Lung Cancer Blogger's Story
I’m a long-time blogger who will celebrate the 10th anniversary of writing my first blog post this coming Christmas Day. My blog used to be about work, my family’s adventures on our sailboat, the things I knit, my daughter’s growth from teenage years through college. When I was diagnosed with stage IV

Lung Transplant
Hi, Paul's consultant has said the next step is a lung transplant. Has anyone on here had one or know any one that has had one for PCD? He's not taken the news well at all. Thanks Tasha

Stage 4 lung cancer with brain mets and radiation questions
Starting radiation on Monday and in a study to avoid the hippocampus area for short term memory. My concern is that even though no cancer is show in that region now that there may be microscopic legions already there and by avoiding this area may indeed hurt me in the future. An immunotherapy now approved for first-line treatment
Late yesterday, the FDA approved Keytruda (an immunotherapy) as a first-line treatment for patients with lung cancer whose tumors express high levels of PD-L1. This means that Keytruda could be used as the first treatment after diagnosis (instead of chemotherapy) in some patients.

I had a full right lung lobectomy in 2007
I was DX with stage 3a NSCLC in October 2007. In November I had my right lu g removed via VATS surgery at NYU in New York. I was fully capable of doing everything I did before and am now heading into year 10 of being cancer free. If you have a great thoracic surgeon you should be fine. I will say that

Hi, Does anyone have any tips for controlling the lung cancer cough? I find it so awful that when I feel up to seeing my friends the evening is ruined by my hacking cough. I have tried many cough linctus and prescribed oramorph linctus and codeine linctus but all with not great results. Thanks, Lorna
