Hi all Im just updating you all that on the 12th November in the small hours I was called but Newcastle to say that they had found a match for me for some lungs, I had been given two weeks to live prior to this call so you can imagine how I felt! so they put me in the ambulance and my.daughter woke up so my husband fetched her to say goodbye to Me which was very emotional for me but to her mummy was going go get better finally, when we got to Newcastle, I went through all the tests all the prep and after hours of waiting they decided it was best that they only do a single lung transplant instead of a double to give me the best chance of survival, the lung was a complete perfect match, so they wheeled me to theatre which is where I had a very emotional goodbye with my husband and then I was gone, many hours later I lay in intensive care, the wait must have been excruciating for my family, but after only 3 hours of being on life support I was extubated and awake, only a day after I was on the main transplant ward, so here I am only 9 days post transplant and I have all drains, tubes, lines, you name it taken out and now doing daily physio, they say I may make it home for Christmas, I spent six months on the waiting list for this God given second chance at life and I am so grateful for what God has done for me and my family, for those who are waiting on the transplant list I implore you to keep praying keep having faith coz that call will come and you will get your God given second chance.
