Scar pain
Just a quick line to see if anyone has had any experience of this. some of you will have read in my past posts that I had a left lung pneumonectomy last july as a result of a squamous carcinoma. I have recently started to experience pain in the vicinity of my scar. It is a new winge and I’m taking

Lung Biopsy
So my mums biopsy went well. She is currently resting before she has an X-ray to ensure all is ok before coming home. The nurse bringing her back up said that we should hear from the consultants within the week (as when these things are caught like this they deal with them quickly 😬?) it could be a

Since I'm up anyway
With this stupid sciatica keeping me up all hours, I thought I'd mention something that might be of interest and even more to fellow COPD sufferers, and especially for those who might be seeking lung transplants. I have a neighbor who had a transplant not long ago. Maybe two years? I'm not really sure

Silent Reflux after lung surgery?
Has anyone heard that about 48% of people having lung cancer surgery often have silent reflux afterwards? Almost 9 weeks after my lobectomy I have noisy breathing in my oesophagus, a chronic cough, hoarseness in varying degrees, and post nasal drip particularly at night, and I burp quite often. All

Newly diagnosed
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with lung cancer, which I have been told is operable. But at pet scan another area was found in lower aspect of same lung. I am terrified at the thought of it all, its all I think about at the moment. Can anyone tell me how they were following op, not sure if it will

Yellow soft paraffin - update
Thank you everyone for your comments about the paraffin cream. I queried their usage of it and one of the nurses followed through, checked with pharmacy, and now Southampton General will NOT be using yellow paraffin for patients on oxygen! Thanks again everyone, without your support I might not have

Nodules found on the diaphragm, more info please.
Just 12 months ago my husband had lung surgery to remove three fifths of his upper left lobe, followed by 12wks of chemo and is now on a double blinded trial drug. Because he is on a trial he gets extra scans and checks (thank goodness) and some spots have now shown as active on his lower left lobe.

Yellow soft paraffin BP
Hi, I've come across something this week which may help other oxygen users, maybe you l know this, but I didn't so just in case it helps someone else, I'm posting here. Yellow soft paraffin BP can be used as a lip salve when using oxygen. It is fantastic, the closest I've come to a lip balm and very

PMR AND CANCER
Hi the experts say that my lung cancer was the most likely cause to bring on my PMR. Which was proved to be right as when a third of my lung was removed it vanished from me. Lung nodule
I have had some really good news today. I had a letter from my lung consultant to say that the large nodule they found was much more probably old scarring and not a nodule at all, so I do not have to have any more scans, except routine ones. As he said, at least some good news, although that remark does

Emphysema missed by specialist. Should I be annoyed?
Hi all, I was diagnosed with asthma a few years ago after my
lung
collapsed
, but I always felt there was something else wrong. The specialist ordered a CT scan aswell as blood tests. The report specifically said there was no emphysema and that my blood tests were “unremarkable”.

CBD FOR LUNG CANCER?
Hi, I'm new here. I am going crazy trying to find info about exactly how to dose CBD oil for lung cancer. I have x-ray and CT/PET confirmation of 2.5 cm mass at tip of my right lung, am having a needle biopsy tomorrow for diagnosis, but have been told there is 90-96% probability of cancer. Have been
