May 1213 bring continuing improvements in quicker cancer diagnosis, treatments and ever increasing longevity in patients. What is clear is that after many years of chemotherapy and radiation, we're in the midst of an explosion in novel lung cancer treatment options. This could be an amazing year.

Hello Robert,

Happy New Year to you too. You are so right about treatment improving. I am just recovering from having a plueral effusion operation and am pleased to say it has made life so much easier. My persistent cough has stopped completely and there has been an improvement with the pain. Lets keep our fingers crossed now for new developments and a happy long future x

Thanks for your comments. I have just had chemo to reduce 4 oesophageal tumours (upper stomach, gullet and 2 in my throat. Will be starting the New Year with major 9 hour surgery in mid- end January to remove them all. I hope my 3 surgeons have had time to sober up, don't need any shaky hands. I need them in top shape. So far all is looking good. Unfortunately my karaoke nights are finished which is great news for my long suffering family and friends. Looking forward to getting back on my feet soon as possible, being normal and having an enjoyable year.
