Lung club; lung disease runners?
Call me insane but I’m about to attempt coach to 5k with severe lung disease, 48% lung function and 1.5 litre lung capacity. *unsolicited medical advice not needed, I have a wonderful hospital team 😊* I’ve trained myself to manage a fast walking pace without hypoxia rearing it’s head and now I’m a

My partner has been through so many tests since end of March ‘23. He has been diagnosed with Cirrhosis Child-Pugh scoring A. Consultant now deciding on treatment for hepatitis strain which caused this. It’s not alcohol or fatty liver cause and he is at lower end BMI for his height and is abstinent

Is this a serious warning sign?
Hi, just want some advice really as not sure what to do. My partner had Alcoholic Hepatitis just over 2 years ago and has continued to drink in excess of 10 beers a day. In the last few days the whites of his eyes have turned yellow and he has black poo. He has lost a lot of weight and doesn't eat

When you talk about heart rate on here . Do you mean the red pulsing heart ? On Apple Watch .
I’m starting to ignore the ecg as it’s getting me and hubby confused so concentrating on the red heart on the Apple Watch . As I think the ecg counts the flutters from the top part of the heart thst gets confused with the electrical signals . The heart function nurse said that digoxin can mask the problem

Spouse has confirmed Cirrhosis via biopsy, physician says stage 4. Also hepatic encephalopathy, no varices, mild ascites. Stage 4 fiber study, 67% stiffness of liver. He continues to drink 10 to 12 beers a day and 3 to 4 shots of whiskey. He refuses to quit drinking, also refuses to take the medication

I was diagnosed with PMR in October last year started on 60 mgs prednisol which relieved my symptoms in 3 or 4 days.Started reducing by 10 mgs every 4 weeks in December. Saw the medicina interna (I live in Spain) in July this year who suggested GCA and increased my pred to 60 again reducing by 10 mgs

Anyone had issues with Teva Apixaban? My wife has been switched from Eliqius to Teva and now has a number of side effects (anxiety/emotional, nausea, headaches, balance) that she never had while taking Eliqius for 9 years.

Propanolol
I have been given Prop for my AF, cardiologist changed me over from Digoxin to it. I also have restless legs and they seem to have become really bad since starting prop. Does anyone else have af and rls, if so what do you take?

Cholesterol, Hypothyroidism, Statins
The issue of elevated cholesterol in those with undiagnosed/under medicated hypothyroidism used to be commonly known. Not so now, the information is out there but not sufficiently joined up and prominent in many doctors minds to be a frontline consideration. Thus we need to be well versed so we can

Low Heart Rate
As I mentioned a few days ago, I've been waiting to hear from the Arrhythmia clinic. It's been 3 weeks and no phone call so I called today, got a voicemail. Hopefully I hear soon. Today I don't seem to have any energy and thought I would check my HR. I was shocked to see it was 43. Sure hope I don't

medication after open heart surgery
is there anyone on this site who has had a heart valve replacement and is now using biologic meds to control their ra? If so, I’d love to hear your experience. I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve which needed replacing in June (an event hastened by a toxic reaction to leflunomide). I’ve had an Inspiris

Clopidogrel
In June 2023 I ended up in A&E with some odd symptoms and the doctors thought I had a TIA, after a MRI, CT with contrast, ECG, Blood tests, Echo and a heart monitor for a week they could not confirm or deny what happened that day but wanted to keep me on clopidogrel for 3 months just incase. Since then
