"Likely peripheral spondyloarthropathy"
Hi all - hope you're having one of the better days today. Just wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with the above like me, according to the rheumatologist's clinical letters which he's been writing to GP/others for the past two years? I don't really understand what it actually means and googling

Recent PA diagnosis, serum levels high from oral cyanocobalamin, symptoms persist
Hi folks, 47-year-old female writing from the US; so glad I found this forum. After 10+ years of trying to get help with what I now realize were B12 deficient symptoms (mainly neurological; brain fog, clumsy, fatigue, low energy, grouchiness, sleep problems, etc.), my GP ordered a B12 test. 7/23:

Hashimotos or Vitamin Deficiency, latest blood results, advice needed please.
I posted 3 months ago and got some very good advice from the community. I am due to see the Endo on Friday concerning the nodules in my thyroid which have grown larger and would like to be armed with as much information as possible before I go. A brief recap. I had a thorough check up whilst in Turkey

High B12, High Folate, High MCH
Hi all, I have high b12 of 986, high folate >20, and high MCH 32.7. My symptoms are fatigue, burning swollen tongue, joint pain, muscle aches, brain fog. I have a history of H pylori and have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. My doctor has ordered the intrinsic factor test to rule out PA. Is this enough testing

B12 deficiency, injections and blood test results
Hello, I wondered whether there's anyone out there with knowledge of B12 deficiency? I've been feeling rubbish with loads of strange symptoms for at least a couple of years. My ferritin is always lowish - hovering around 15-18 ug/L. My folate was 11 ug/L in January, 10 in June and now 9.

81 year old mum- secondary hypo?
I’m still trying to help my lovely old mum who has no diagnosis of thyroid disease but is still suffering from low mood and many of the symptoms I had before I introduced T3. She’s been told to return to doctor in a year unless symptoms increase. Her in range TSH has always confounded me, due to my

Should I take Potassium?
I self-inject monthly for PA identified by intrinsic factor antibodies, even though my B12 was still in the normal low range at the time the IFAs were discovered. I have severe neuropathy that has not abated since I started injecting two years ago and has spread to my trunk and face. So far there is

Update on: GP stopping my B12. Replacing with oral B12.
UPDATE: Hi everyone. Thanks to everyone who responded and advised me. I had the telephone consultation with my GP today. I have now had the decision to replace my injections with oral medication reversed. This is the gist of how the consultation went (excuse any lack of knowledge/understanding at times

‘Normal’ B12 level but antibodies can it be P.A.?
I am struggling at the moment with chest tightness, shortness of breath and have been to the GP and A&E and understandably investigations have taken us down respiratory/cardiac route. They seem to be OK I have had two ECG and blood tests results of the second lot are in process. I have Hashimotos hypothyroid

Testing Intrinsic Factor and others
Can you test for intrinsic factor while on supplementation? I also have had redux and burning for several years and wonder if the PA test will also be accurate? I have several autoimmune issues...RA, gluten intolerant, hashimotos thyroid diagnosed on pathological report, but antibody test now was fine

A little advice re: blood test if possible?
Hi all, I've popped over here from the PAS forum as I've recently had my Thyroid Function Test results back. A little background info, it was discovered that I didn't have the intrinsic factor when I was about 10 years old so had PA. Nothing was ever mentioned about it after that. I have always been

8 years of anemia despite PA diagnosis and consistent treatment
This will be quite long as my history with anemia has been ongoing and frustrating for years (as well as confounding to my doctors). I was diagnosed with PA 8 years ago with "marginally low" B12 (US 212 with range 200-900), positive intrinsic factor blocking antibody test, and macrocytic anemia. I was

Newly diagnosed, but long time sufferer
Dear all ... I hope you can all help to shed some light on the following. I recently had a raft of blood tests after many, many years of avoiding them ( chronic needle phobe, I'm afraid ). Blood tests revealed that both my haemoglobin and B12 levels were low. My B12 was at the bottom of the scale at

Non specific gastritis, I’m not really sure what that means! 😏
Hi everyone, I had a positive Intrinsic factor test 3 yrs ago along with a low b12 serum level, I was then diagnosed with PA (after many years of various symptoms) I had b12 loading doses then monthly injections ever since which eventually helped some of my symptoms. Recently I’ve had oesophageal and

Positive for parietal cell antibodies
Hi everyone, I'm 30 years old and have been seeking a reason for feeling incredibly ill with a whole range of symptoms for over a decade. After using Blue Horizon I found a few years ago that I had hashimotos and so commenced a long battle to get treatment. I am now on Levothyroxine but feeling no better
