I'm 85 and have suffered with AF as long as I can remember. I recall worrying about my heart missing beats and thinking the worst. Specialist doctors tried Flecanide and Sotolol which helped by limiting my episodes paroxysmally but I was still aware of AF when playing tennis and golf. My doctor got permission

Cardioversion NHS waiting time.
Newbie here. Persistent AFib for 3m. Echocardiogram done. Cardioversion likely to be recommended. Wondered what waiting times people were experiencing? Thanks for any contributions.

Arrhythmia after open heart surgery - any others with similiar experiences?
Hi there, I'm new to this forum and looking forward to learning from you all. 8 weeks ago I had open heart surgey to correct a large atrial septal defect (hole in the heart). It was diagnosed at Christmas. Prior to this I had no cardiac symptoms at all - I was power lifting in the gym, cycling a 20km

CBD interfering with Synthroid and Cytomel??
Does anyone use CBD gummies for pain and sleep at night? Doe CBD interfere with Thyroid Meds. I don't use the CBD very often, and have seen that separating the 2 by a few hours is recommended? thanks

Post DC Cardioversion advice
My husband has had AF jumpy heart rhythm for years and has meds for slightly high BP - Bisoprolol and Ramipril, but has been getting a bit tired and breathless on exertion. So he had DC Cardioversion yesterday and is in sinus. But his resting heart rate is hovering around 50 and if he does anything

Amiodarone
I just wanted to clear up such negative responses to amiodarone. What is the mortality rate for amiodarone? In unadjusted analysis, amiodarone recipients had a slightly higher risk of death compared to non-recipients in the full cohort (87 vs 73 deaths per 1,000 person-years; P<0.001) but not in the

Foods for ckd
I have to eat this way as I suffer from chronic constipation as well and this diet helps but am I really adding to the burden of

Medication and ckd
What can I do. As said in previous posts I now have to take medication for my depression - does anyone know if anti depressants cause extra damage. I really have no choice because of how severe the depression is. One of the medications is Trazadone but at a low dosage. You have all been so helpful

HiI was diagnosed with high blood pressure 4/5 months ago as feeling unwell. I have been prescribed the following tablets of which none have agreed with me - Amlodipine, Ramipril & Losartan. I'm now trying Spironolactone (water tablet). 3 weeks in & I'm getting more weary, confused, balance off & bowels

Working out after AFIB
I saw my EP for a 90 day check up post ablation a few weeks ago. One of my questions was when can I resume more intense cardio workouts? I'm back to weight training, yoga, walking and rowing (on machine), but am nervous about getting my heart rate too high. My history: 3 (that I knew of) episodes

Annual transplant program appointment
Gratefully, this one had actually read my chart before coming in the room and knew and believed my
CKD
was from ileostomy dehydration. It was the first time I didn't have to play, "educate the doctor." I usually have to explain the difference between an ileostomy and a colostomy and more.

Oromorph
Hi all. Has anyone had experience of using Oromorph? Doctors have prescribed this for my mum who has CBD because she has started constantly scratching/rubbing her right leg with her left leg and is crying in pain with it. The oromorph seems to be better than the Gabapentin but it’s making her very,

High diastolic blood p Niraparib
Hi, Blood pressure going up again on Niraparib, but it does just seem to be the bottom number, the diastolic. Has anybody got any success stories of sorting this bit with meds? Had bad reaction to calcium channel blocker. Currently taking Candesartan, though wanting to increase dose but not been on

Too much to take in!
A lot going on with no answers. Firstly having been diagnosed with AF in May, I had my fourth episode whilst in France a couple of weeks ago. Previous to that I was asked whether I would take part in the DOCCLA system which is an extension of a hospital ward apparently where they monitor you at home

Bad test news - questions to ask doctor
I knew my husband had AF following an EKG prior to surgery in 2012. He was a college athlete and only health issues have been hip and knee replacements. They tried to shock him out of AF but it was unsuccessful. He was put on Xarelto 20 mg. He has always been asymptomatic and I was naive since he
