Being off eliquis for surgery
how is being off Eliquis for 3 days handled for pacemaker battery change. Is another drug used to prevent stroke possibility? How challenging is it to have the PM battery changed? I have AF & Arterial Flutter. I am mildly symptomatic. I'm on Eliquis 5 mg twice a day. I had an ixchemic stroke October

New here - matazapine not working
Hi all, new to the forum hoping to get some advice. Been struggling with sleep for the past 5 months literally came out of nowhere, I've not slept right through for months. I saw my g.p who prescribed low dose zopiclone which didn't work. I've also tried cbd oil, nytol, and other over the counter meds

C25K - Target Pace?
After a false start a couple of years ago I have recently completed a c25k program. I was prompted to try it and get fit after a 'minor' heart attack in 2020 when I was 61, but I felt very vulnerable and frankly was scared of trying it. Jump forward a couple of years to 2023 and after a period of

I had a heart attach 7.5 years ago. Now having had an episode of severe chest pain and a two night hospital stay - no troponin increase or iffy ecg, I’ve got to have a stress MRY on Monday and I’m absolutely terrified. Has anyone on here had one?

Uveitis treatment opinion please
I have been an intermediate uveitis patient ( vasculitis of the eye) for about 18 months now. Have had several steroid implants in the eye and has been on methotexrate injections for 6 months now. But the oedema due to vasculitis is coming back repeatedly. So seems like I have 2 options now in terms

PMR without steroids?
Hubby (55) was just diagnosed with PMR that we suspect he's had for about two years. He'd like to try and work through it without taking prednisone since every post we read is about people trying to get off of it. Do you think it's possible to manage the pain with other means and methods long enough

Supplement Reverses Hallmarks Of Old Age And Promotes Healthier Aging
Good Morning All, I thought this may be of interest to some or many. The supplement "Glynac" (combination of Glycine and N-acetylcysteine) showed after 16 weeks of participants taking doses of 100 mg/kg/d each of glycine and NAC, was associated with a host of benefits for key hallmarks of aging and

Does anyone with CKD have any experience with Circle of Care phone calls? They say they are part of my drs medical group, but they arent.
My husband thinks it's a scam. They said my dr signed me up, my drs ofc say they never heard of them. I told them to quit calling me. They said they are a medicare program and the only way I can get out of it is to quit Medicare. Say what, that sounds like communism.

Dad - CBD
So the last few days my dad has been poorly. His breathing hasn't been very good and he has been making awful noises. He is now struggling to swallow so sits with food in his mouth (he is on a puree diet) and is quite dribbly. When my mum does get him to eat it is usually no more than a couple of teaspoons

Physio and CBD
hi. My mum (81) has CBD, diagnosed December 2019 but had symptoms for about 3/4 years before. Due to lockdown and other circumstances, she’s just started to see a neuro physio. Her right arm is the ‘alien limb’ and mum hasn’t been able to do anything with it really but the physio wanted her to try and

Ectopic Beats ruining my life
So I’ve always suffered with anxiety all my life, last year I was going through a lot of stress with work and in December I got stranded in Germany due to bad snow. I was having panic attacks with heart palpitations over Christmas then on Boxing Day I had sat down and I felt this weird thud/flutter in

Dr Mark Norman EP
Have been looking at EPs in my area as I believe that I’ll need an ablation eventually. I’m on flecainide and bisoprolol currently and whilst so far I’ve only had one AF event in the last 12 months (compared to every two or three months pre medication) I know that it may not last. The number of palpitations

CKD and Kidney Stones
Has anyone else had kidney stones in the kidneys and
CKD
? Is there a connection? Will the kidney stones damage the kidney? I have passed two kidney stones before, one in 1989 and one about 15 years ago.
