Well I made it to sunny France (actually very hot an humid) and have just managed to get my heart ultrasound results emailed through. To quote cardiologist’s report I have « very mild aortic and tricuspid regurgitation » and « Interatrial septum is aneurysmal that is bulging into right atrium, although there is no evidence of obvious shunt »
I think I understand the first bit - it just means I have slightly leaky valves which I don’t think is too serious, but can’t find out what 2nd bit means. Don’t think they are too concerned as letter finishes with next ultrasound to be booked for 2 years time.
Has anyone else come across this aneurysmal interatrial septum ??
If this isn’t too serious I assume I feel like I’m walking around with a stone weight on and dizzy light headedness because of the 7.5mg Bisopolol I’m on! Be glad when I can have a medication review.

You are right regarding the regurgitation. Very few people without some.
Not seen your other matter reported here but I wouldn't worry too much if your consultant isn't bothered. Enjoy your holiday. My sister lives near Chinon and we definitely have the best weather right now.
In about 1960 I spent four days in Arles visiting St Marie de la mare and the Carmargue. The mossies were HUGE and hungry and it was weeks before our limbs recovered.
when I was little camping my father used to stand me in front of him and he sprayed me with DDT from a flit gun. Did the trick. No more mossie bites for me but not to be recommended.
mossie bites are the pits. I have a gadget called a Beurer which helps with the itching. Never go anywhere without anti mossie stuff. You can also get a gadget which sucks the poison out for lager bites and stings.
Really suffering this year, partly because this first week spent by a lake and humid. Now en route to Dordogne for next two weeks so hopefully less mossies! I think the Apixaban is affecting me because they are coming up very large with blood like rash all around them and I have eight of the blighters! Very attractive!! Have taken note of your recommendations so thank you very much.
I Posted about my Interatrial Septal Aneurysm (ASA) a while ago when my cardiogram returned a similar result, but also not thought worthy of any follow up. But this did/does surprise me. I never had the opportunity to discuss this result with a cardiologist, so will appreciate any new information you discover. I will give a link to that Post at the end.
I discovered that an atrial septal aneurysm (ASA) is a congenital malformation of the atrial septum characterized by bulging of the septum overlying the fossa ovalis region into either atrium.
The one concern I did discover is that if you also have a hole in your septum ie. an atrial septal defect (ASD), then you also have a higher risk of strokes.

That is very interesting. My letter says that there is no obvious shunt. Have no idea what that means, but does go on to say that because of that and the AF I should be on DOAC. I’m on Apixaban already. Letter ends saying that due to minor regurgitations I should have 2 yearly ultrasounds. No more mention of the ASA, so like you I assume it was not considered serious . Not back from France until 24th June so will definitely be following up on it then. Will let you know what I discover!
Yes, I will look forward to anything you discover. If you read my Bio you will see I am not anticoagulated at the moment (and the reasons for my choice), but obviously very concerned to learn whether an ASA, without a defect, increases my stroke risk. It's a bit rock and hard place, as usual in these decisions.
We are promised French like hot weather here at the moment, but not the food or the lifestyle.
Thanks for all that Bob. I read through all the posts and it makes very interesting reading. I assume that as I have no evidence of a « shunt » it means nothing is pushing into one of the heart chambers? I did wonder what a shunt was.
I'm assuming a shunt would be a hole (a defect) that allows blood to pass between the atria. This is what raises the stroke risk as revealed in JulianM's contribution.
And I was concerned that no measurement was given in my report as to the size of the aneurysm, as this was an important risk factor in the research revealed by JulianM. 🤔
