I have

He has tried every creme, prednisone in high doses, oatmeal baths, etc...Nothing helps except ice packs for a short time.I read that the FDA approved the drug Korsuva for treatment of

What do you tell friends and acquaintances?
Of course my family and close friends know that I have
CKD
. Should I just call it that to everyone? I’m wondering what people here said when first diagnosed? Thanks

GFR stable but now proteinutra
I have early
CKD
, diagnosed as 3A but technically I'm at the end of stage 2 with a GFR of 61. I am diabetic but my blood pressure is fine. I recently noticed bubbles in my urine which my doctor says is protein - the issue is I haven't seen this for maybe a year and now it's back.

phosphate
I believe with
CKD
it is advised to eat white bread due to lower phosphates. The article said that this is not always the case, as although whole grain has more phosphates we only absorb 20-50% of the phosphates compared to 100% of phosphates absorbed in white bread. Can anyone clarify this.

Back Pain
I have heart failure and
CKD
, so can’t take Ibuprofen. At the moment I’m on dihydrocodiene and paracetamol which I know is strong but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work. I find I can’t stand up for more than ten minutes without sitting down.

Barrett's esophagus and mild CKD
Does anyone suffer from both of these conditions ? My husband has both. He had been taking a PPI for many years and wondered if there was a link. Thank you.

Terrified - just dropped to stage 4 CKD
But I think it’s starting to fail, my GFR just dropped to 29 which puts me in stage 4
ckd
after being in 3a w/ a creatine hovering 1.5 for oh probably over 15 years. Now it’s 2.18 and BUN also jumped to 50. I’m terrified.

Comprehensive CKD and healthy Diet app
I tried using it for two weeks before I started learning about
CKD
foods which has taken me months of research every day. Weight watchers used to have a great app with a robust database of foods with calorie, fats, carbohydrates, etc. the NKF has one that tracks the 3 related to
CKD
.

caregiver for family member
She has had
CKD
for 20+ years, along with diabetes, HTN, and arthritis. I was looking for community online support because sometimes we feel information overloaded. She has been suffering from severe itching, and nothing seems to help.

Very Promising Med for CKD!
This would be an enormous advantage for kidney patients that may eliminate dialysis. Hope this becomes a prescribed medication soon!
