Covid, meds do they help?
I have
CKD
stage 3a, I just got covid. I was thinking about calling my doctor tomorrow to see if I need meds to help. I have body aches, headache, and sore throat. I was vaccinated in Nov. Not sure if it’s worth it to take meds and if it hurts the kidneys..could you share your experiences?

COVID and GFR decline
I had been diagnosed with
ckd
a few years prior (GFR of 52) and had been slowly declining. In Feb of 2021, I got COVID and since then my numbers have dropped and not recovered. My GFR is now a 31. My kidney disease is inherited and I do take meds to control my blood pressure.

The amazing Kidney
Unlike most with
CKD
, I am not diabetic. It seems that a plant based low protein diet is the only known way to maintain what’s left of my kidney function so I’m always looking for diet information from those in the same boat.

Recommended Tracking App - Easy to use, tracks what I need to monitor for CKD
As my
CKD
disease progresses I will need some of the paid features, such as customizing my Macronutrient Targets. After I meet with my doctor I will find out what my target values should be.

How do I convince my husband?
Then I got
CKD
with some serious diet restrictions. I don't think he's ever taken it that seriously. To appease him I would continue to eat somewhat like him. ButI began cutting out most salt and putting the salt shaker on the table for him.

An update
It seems that my asthma plus,
CKD
means that a lot of pain relief is unsuitable. So, it’s a case of suck it up and adjust my life accordingly’. Since then, I have been helped to adjust to my ‘new way’ of life by my incredible husband and our family.

Trying to guess my stage
Can you determine a
CKD
stage just by the eGFR?

How to find a donor
Suffering from
CKD
stage 3(b) since 1 year but now the condition is not good. It's stage 4 and I think it needs a transplant (as to avoid dialysis). I am not able to find a donar in my close circle. What are the other options to find?

Medical ID Bracelet
I have been told to get a medical ID bracelet for
CKD
. Is this something that you do and if so, where do I get one and what do I put on it?

SKIN CONDITION
I'm asking if anyone else on the forum has had similar skin problems and could it be related to our
CKD
. The dermatologist whom I saw for 15 years or more retired on medical leave. I've scheduled an appointment with a new dermatologist, but I just wondering if anyone has had similar problems.

just diagnosed with CKD stage 3.
hi all I have been on this sight for my husband who had prostate cancer and robotic prostatectomy 4 years ago. Due to very slight rise in PSA they did a Pet scan which showed kidney cancer, what a shock no symptoms at all, apparently until late stages there is no symptoms. Anyway he has had Nephrectomy

Growth Hormone
Hi, has anyone with a child/teen with
CKD
decided to give growth hormones to their child? How did you make that decision and at what age did you begin? Or did you decide against it? We are being pressured to do so for the happiness of our child but have time to decide.

FATIGUE
Has anyone with stage 4
ckd
been so fatigued that they could hardly put one foot in front of the other? Granted, I had some surgeries and other problems that rendered me quite sedentary, and being almost 77, I wonder if I haven’t acquired Sarcopenia, or if I’m just totally out of shape?
