Hello!: Hello everyone! Looking forward to... - Kidney Disease
Hello!
We have all been there. Knowledge and support help much. I found these sites to be helpful:
• Renal Support Network provides many support and advocacy services including a phone support line.
• AAKP is a comprehensive resource focusing on the quality of life for kidney patients through education, advocacy, patient engagement and the fostering of patient communities.
• National Kidney Foundation provides a portal for patients too.
Also, Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Cleveland Clinic provide much information.
This is a good place to connect. First of all, we need more information. Do you have high blood pressure or diabetes? Have you seen a nephrologist and do they know what is causing your CKD?
Check out kidneyschool.org It is a very good place to educate oneself regarding all things kidney. Blessings
Diet is key, No one and I mean no one said a word to me about it until I was probably stage 4. Then I was told don't eat much salt and stay away from a lot of protein. Wish I had seen this site prior, but I was diagnosed 22 years ago and am not stage 5 renal failure, waiting on a transplant. Listen to your nephrologist and maybe ask for a renal dietician. Good Luck.
