Natural supplements used as Adjuvant Therapy with Lupron (only) by 6 year Stage IV, G8, PSA 0.06, Patient
I continue to receive a number of requests for the specific supplements I take. Here is my story and an updated list of specific supplements. All supplements chosen were made on the basis of cancer research reviewed mainly through pubmed.gov. Doses were more challenging and were derived from the experiences

PSA 209 originally 42 months ago now undetectable still
Great news. I was originally DX in November 2014 PSA 209 with pelvic bone mets and still have been able to stay at <0.02 42 months later with monthly injection of Firmagon and 50 MG of Casodex daily. I often wonder if switching to Zytiga or Xtanti instead of Casodex will extend my life. My Dr. thinks

Asking Local MO to add Avodart and Metformin to Xtandi
I am trying to bone up for a local MO second opinion next week. Supposedly, this MO believes in scans and may not pawn us off on the nurse like the other local MO has been doing. My husband takes Xtandi and recently they added Casodex again. Because so many here have mentioned adding Avodart and/or

Xtandi Side Effects and The BS of 4 Caps Per Day
Casodex dosing is 50 mg - 100mg - 150mg...I read a paper where the maximum safe dose during trials many times becomes the rec'd dose. That does not means a lesser dose is ineffective. Look at the study below...they compared 160 mg of Xtandi to 50 mg of Casodex..right now I am on Xtandi/BAT ( 30 days

Xtandi stomach side effects
Started my PC journey 9 years ago, diagnosed with Gleason 9, and a poor prognosis. I was told surgery was not an option and started radiation. 54 treatments kept my psa under 1.0 for almost 3 years, then Lupron on and of for another 3 years...very effective. Side effects were terrible but eventually

MOs for some perspective and second opinion??
Gleason 7 (4+3, and some 5). I had recurrent oligometastatic PCa after RP and salvage radiation. We zapped the met with SBRT and I’m currently on Lupron and Casodex. I have a very smart MO at Dana Farber in Boston, but he is “conventional.” He wants to try six months of ADT and see what happens. I

Is Taking Casodex and Xtandi ok?
Husband started on Xtandi 2/3/18. He had orchiectomy but hid testosterone isn’t as low as the urologist would like so he suggested to add Casodex. I did a quick search and found no contraindications but wanted to check with the experts here. Thanks

Update on myself and looking for all of your wisdom out there.
Just got all of my bloodwork back. My PSA is steadily climbing. After 6 rounds of chemo, daily casodex, 2 Lupron shots. Went from 138 psa, down to .09. My MO then started the Zytiga, prednisone, and continual lupron shots. Went to 1.71 then 3.71 and now 7.78. I also had a colonoscopy two weeks ago. Found

There were no FDA approved or potential clinical trials. We have about 30 pages of medical terminology that we dont understand

Advanced prostate cancer-gleason 9 with lupron
My father was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer-gleason 9. He had a bone scan last week that revealed 3 bone mets in his pelvis and his psa is currently at a .998. Doctors were shocked about the mets because his psa is so low. They started him on Lupron and Bicutamude under the brand name Casodex

PSA dropping but pain
My husband has been Lupron, casodex and finished upfront Docetaxel( 6 cycles finished in October). DX metastatic 2/1/2017 with PSA of 1044 at 47 yrs old. His PSA has steadily dropped to 2.4 as of 6 weeks ago. This week he’s experiencing pain in his back and ribs. Is this pain a probable sign of progression

Thanks all
I have received quite a few replies following my posts about stopping treatment. I have since deleted the post while trying to delete the picture that accompanied it, that was a mistake. Thank you all for the positive and warm replies to my post. I realize that stopping treatment is not something that

Slow recovery from Chemo, Round 4, Session 2
PSA 1124, Age 59, Stage 4, Dx 3-22-16 So after watching my PSA slowly climb from the nadir at 1.45 on 12/19/16, 2017 was a year of steady increases and a bunch of therapies tried, and failed. After my first chemo session of 6 cycles from 7/18/16 thru 10/31/16, along with 3 month Lupron shots and Zometa
