Hi
I'm new to this site and to metastatic breast cancer. I was diagnosed with breast cancer nearly 20 years ago,had a lumpectemy ,radiation treatment and all my lymph nodes were clear. I have had negative mammograms every year since, yet in June I developed a pleural effusion and eventually after a VATS

VATS BIOPSY RESULTS FINALLY
Hi, I have posted a few times. I had a VATS lung biopsy and have a general diagnosis FINALLY. They first told me they were almost sure I had constrictive Bronchiolitis (thanks for those that have it who were so kind and helpful). The biopsy showed Cellular Interstitial Pneumonitis and most likely Hypersensitivity

CT / PET Scans
This may be a dumb question but it is one I cannot locate an answer to. How many scans in a year would be too many? If I do the CT scan scheduled for me in October that would be 5 CT's within the year. That and the fact I had many x-rays done this year due to pneumonia and VAT's surgery. Have been reading

Has anyone used Cat's Claw ( Banisteriopsis caapi ) Extract for Parkinson's Disease
A substance extracted from the Amazonian vine Banisteriopsis caapi was shown in the 1920s to alleviate parkinsonism. These pioneering studies were criticized and forgotten for a number of reasons, including questions as to the identity of the active agent and failure to conduct strictly controlled

Cat's claw
Just read an article on herbal supplement, cat's claw (uncaria tomentosa) for RA inflammation and the immune system. Wondering if any of you have tried and if it helped at all. Thanks.

devils claw
someone has recommended I try devils claw for my bad knees. Anyone know if it is OK to take with Rivaoxaban and beta blocker? It is anti inflammatory so I wonder if it is bad like NSAIDs?

Prayers Today for my Sister
We have an appointment this morning to go over the results of the genetic testing and to see what treatment to follow. We’re praying for favorable markers 🙏🏼. She is having so much trouble breathing especially in the am when she wakes up that I’m thinking she might need oxygen like when she was in

Nerve pain 4 weeks after VATS surgery
Hi everyone. Looking for experiences and advice. I am a bit over 4 weeks post VATS surgery to remove my upper right lobe. I am still experiencing a lot of nerve pain on my right side. It seems to be radiating from where the drain tube was but,l has since been removed before I came home from the hospital

After lobectomy
Hi all, I’m new here.. I had a vats upper left lobectomy for nsclc stage 1A nodule 12 weeks ago. Clean lymph nodes. I have a strong family history of lung cancer so I was in an annual screening program. It was found with my 2nd annual scan. I was asymptomatic. 57 year old female. Otherwise, pretty healthy

Port Placement pain
Good morning fellow warriors. I had my port put in on Thursday, February 15th. I am very sore where they implanted it into my left chest. I can feel it which I'm sure is normal. It just seems like it's really tender to the touch. Is this normal and will the thin skin it's put under will toughen

Nerve pain after VATS surgery
Hello everyone. First of all, I have never seen a braver group of survivors. Your stories, words of encouragement and positive outlook is amazing. My question is how everyone that has had VATS lobectomy surgery have dealt with your nerve pain. I am 3 weeks healing from surgery and feel just like me

Recently diagnosed
I'd first like to thank all of the posters for sharing their stories, they fill me with hope. I went in to see a doc in Dec for a lump in my leg and they decided to do a CT scan because I had previously smoked (quit in 2010). They found a 4 cm mass in my upper right lung and a subsequent biopsy vis EBUS

Just diagnosed
Hi, I am new here. I was diagnosed with a lung nodule in my upper left lung in December. It was found after LD-CAT. It was followed up by a PET scan which showed that it had not metastasized as far as they could tell. The PET was not definitive but they are pretty sure it is cancer because of the shape

Pleural thickening post vats surgery and hello
Hi I'm Lisa my hubby has recently been diagnosed with pleural thickening likely asbestos although not confirmed despite vats biopsy. Just wondering about excercises he could do and how to access help for it. He has heart and other health problems that contribute to his breathlessness and chronic fatigue

I’m new here
Hi, I had a right middle Lobectomy 4 weeks ago biopsy showed pulmonary adenocarcinoma T2aN0M0 so no adjuvant chimo or radiation, but CT scans every 4 months. I feel really strange being in this nowhere-land and have so many questions like; how long after vats lobectomy will I feel well? When should
