I am having a VATS Lung biopsy with general anesthesia. Can anyone tell me their experiences. Was it painful after, complications and did you get sick from Anesthesia (this is my first surgery) Any advice appreciated. They think I likely Bronchiolitis and the biopsy will tell them if I do, the type and best treatment. Also anyone with Bronchiolitis that got better from inhalers? I am on Symbicort and it has helped but I don't know if that is just helping the symptoms and not the disease. Thanks so much. I can't lie I am very nervous but trying to be strong.

hi i had vats done in march i was dreading it but to be honest it wasnt painful id say the drain that was in was uncomftable on the second day due to the morphine wearing off but once it was out i was good to go home and i was taking morphine tablets for around a week as the scar was painfull and if im honest still is it,in my case its taking a lot of time to heal just feels so sore on the inside anyway good luck you will be fine.
I had vat in 2010 and the scar ind resulting nerve damage is most painful. I had localized pain via a catheter to and around the surgical site . Post surgery first 24 hours for me most painful then the the chest tube was painful until it came out. You’ll do fine....good luck!
