Cats claw: Anyone had experience with cats... - Cure Parkinson's
Cats claw
This is a very interesting question, & one I'd also like to know the answer to. Hope you get some good replies Connie 😊
I have tried a number of herbs including Uncaria Tomentosa - Cat's Claw. It did no harm, I just took the basic powered herb form, but I could not perceive many benefits either. Perhaps the pure herb is the wrong form to take and AC-11, the aqueous extract of UT, is neuroprotective in a PD model.
Neuroprotective effects of aqueous extracts of Uncaria tomentosa: Insights from 6-OHDA induced cell damage and transgenic Caenorhabditis elegans model.
"These findings encourage further investigation on AC11 and its active constituent compounds, as possible therapeutic intervention against Parkinson's disease."
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/235...
AC-11 is considered a 'nootropic' - a supplement which enhances memory and learning.
The following link has more about AC-11 and it must be noted that they are also selling a product so read the info and consider this is only 1 of many AC-11 products. At the bottom of the article there are a number of links to studies of UT.
Thank you
Is there any difference between Uncaria rhynchophylla and Uncaria Tomentosa? Both are called "Cat's Claw"
