Just some info for those using Carnitine for hyper symptoms. I use it and originally used l carnitine before changing to acetyl. Found both worked well but at a high dose 4000 -4500 mg daily. Less did not stop the palpitations completely.

I am already trying to improve diet quality and quantity and taking B12, D3, acetyl-carnitine plus plenty of protein to maintain muscle mass. Also trying to get more than 6h sleep each day, doing meditation, removing dietary stimulants and allergens (gradually) and reduce stress.

anyone has been taking these and noted some improvements?

Does it actually help you if you are hypo as I read an article which stated that it inhibits the take up of T4 & T3 . I was looking to take for fatigue/energy

I take 1500kg of L-Carnitine per day as suggested by my GP - there is an Italian study that suggests this will reverse or reduce hyperthyroidism. I also take a homeopathic remedy Nat mur (prescribed by a homeopath).

I've taken, for reasonable periods of time: d-ribose; L Carnitine, COQ 10, B12. I've tried others too but been even less methodical (brain cant cope!). Its very expensive so any concensus of opinion as to what works would be great!
