Diltiazem aka Cardizem
Of all times for AF to really mess me about is on my 80th birthday holiday back to the USA A wicked episode which woke me from sound sleep at 4am was not to be curtailed by the maximum dose of Flecainide. First time. Instead, bpm zoomed to 198 and stayed up there and I had no more drugs to throw

What is the difference in Cartizem verses Metopropol for tachy and afib?
I just stopped all

Cardizem
180 24 HR ER.

The cardiologist is trying it because I did not tolerate
Cardizem
and Amilodipine. I am very sensitive to meds ! Also this med does not seem to be helpful in vasospastic angina. I did not have an angiogram and just having a diagnosis, but not tolerating meds after doesn't make much sense .

PAF … ? Further echo
Hi all, I’ve been quiet on the group for a while now as after my horrible introduction to rapid AF 18 months ago prompting a couple of stays in CCU things have settled on meds. The cardiologist has discharged me back to the Gp , apart from ectopics & odd thumps/ bumps I am well on adizem & flecanide

Waking in afib & first time PIP experience, love to hear experiences of others...
Summary-Diagnosed 14 months ago, 6 episodes since all cardioverted. Taking apixaban only, couldn't tolerate beta blocker, adizem lowered HR too much. On PFA list. Five out of six episodes of Afib on waking, the most recent being last Thursday, the sixth being the first, happened while exercising, unknowingly

Thinning Hair
I’ve been taking Rivaroxaban with Flecainide and Adizem for AFib. My hair has become noticeable thinner. My Consultant has just changed my Rivaroxaban to Apixaban which also has hair loss as a side effect. Does anyone have this problem and are you able to recommend anything to help? I’m 76 years old

What to do?
I recently had the strength of my Adizem meditation increased from 120mg to 180mg daily as my BP was increasingly higher than usual. This medication was prescribed to control my blood pressure and help my heart rhythm. I have noticed I have mild swelling round my ankles and slight puffiness of my feet

Also Inspired by Paul's Post: beta blocker vs. calcium channel blocker
After a few months of no meds (besides apixaban), my cardio and I tried the calcium channel blocker
Cardizem
(diltiazem). It has worked MUCH better, reducing the number and frequency of episodes. It does dampen my pulse, but my BP seems to be holding steady.

Flecainide PIP info please
Diagnosed first episode March 2023 after exercising with shingles( unknowingly)- had four episodes since waking in AF, (also had Gastric probs during this time) Cardioverted back each time. Currently on Ablation list and awaiting tests to see if I can take Flecainide PIP, intolerant to Beta, Blockers

Atrial Tachycardia and Flecainide
The doctor tried
Cardizem
but I had some yucky side effects, so he recommended Flecainide. I am now on 100mg once in the evening and it seems to be controlling the rhythm, for the most part.

Angiogram
As I mentioned before,I have been struggling for a while and couldn't tolerate
Cardizem
or even nitro patch . Does anyone have any experience with the stimulation angio that is more invasive than a regular angio . It is done to diagnose vasospastic angina. I am really scared !

Metallic taste after Edoxaban
Just a quick question. Does anyone have a metallic taste in their mouth after taking Edoxaban? It suits me to take the tablet before bedtime because I take Adizem in the morning to benefit me throughout the day. After taking Edoxaban in the evening, when I wake up in the night to make a bathroom call

Rivaroxaban
Happy New Year everyone! Just wondering if anyone else has any side effects from Rivaroxaban? I'd been taking 20mg per day since 2017 with no noticeable side effects. I not only have AF but Bronchiectasis as well. Needed to put a sputum sample in for testing and carried this out in the usual way
