First episode of PAF occured 2019 2 mos after wife diagnosed w cancer, my cardiologist thinks not coincidental. (My myasthenia gravis was also dx 2019, but had sx for 3-4yrs) Later, Dec 2022, afib episodes much more frequent, lasting longer when she was worsening despite chemotherapy w terrible side effects, and she could get angry at me and BOOM: afib. Also began to occur during work and send me home - typically HR 125-135 and I didn't tolerate. Went to an afib heart clinic, could barely afford Multaq and was taking 5 other doses of meds (MG). Switched to Flecainide and admitted for a proarrhythmia in 9 days late April. Having near- daily episodes of afib by April After taking medical leave in March from full-time work w severe depression, daily afib, daily migraines and worse MG cuz I couldn't sleep and to care for wife. Had first ablation on May 9, by day 2 was having daily afib again lasting until next day. Added cardizem after proarrhythmia hospital stay then Multaq again after ablation but terrible orthostatic hypotension - sitting SBP 123, standing 89 caused chest pain and ER visit 5 days ago, Standing SBP recorded as 84/62 earlier today, have cardiology followup tomorrow. Also have gained 20 lbs? In last 3 months and this morning had HR recorded as 48, was 51 just 10 minutes ago. Dizzy, out of breath with any walking, near-faints every time I stand for whole day today. I'll be getting second ablation after I get 4 VYVGART infusions (for MG);once I can get copay finalized and paid for. But might be getting a heart cath before VYVGART. LORD, HELP ME.

That’s an awful lot to deal with. I hope you find the right treatments for these very complex conditions and that you feel better soon.

Crikey what an awful time for you . When you say you have to pay is that private ? Or do you live in the states ? Having to go through that with your wife must have been awfully stressful as well as having your own health worries. My husband had an appointment this Friday with cardiac doctor as his heart is still all over the place with meds . He went for a slow walk yesterday and heart rate up to 137 and then drops right down to fifty or sixty . I’m hoping they can tweak his meds to balance out his rhythm . The doctor said some people as they get older Jist stay in AF but can be controlled with meds . Good luck with your treatment . Take care
