Different treatments
I was not offered ablation and they said I could try a
cardioversion
but it might just revert to Afib again and they did not want me to stay on sotalol due to side effects from long term use. Does this sound about right ? For treatment just to carry on on a rate control medication.

AF Returns
All good until September 2023 when AF re-appeared and had a successful
cardioversion
last month. During last night I went back into AF (I am generally always persistent). I have been waiting 4 months to see a cardiologist and don't know where I am in the the queue.

Atrial Flutter: is it a long-term condition?
Good evening, about 4 years ago I had an episode of atrial flutter which was treated by
cardioversion
successfully. I was then prescribed Apixaban which I took for some time but it made my skin very sun sensitive. I took myself off it and took instead 75 mg of aspirin a day.

Diltiazem aka Cardizem
So , paramedic trip to the amazingly beautiful Eisenhower Hospital in Rancho Mirage where I had my first
cardioversion
. That got me back into NSR pronto. However, the enemy only gave me a day of peace. I went back for another cardio version 48 hours later.

Waiting Times For Ablations?
Back in August last year I had a
cardioversion
which only lasted for 3 weeks. In October I had a CT coronary angiogram and received the results in December.

AF episodes post ablation
EP has talked about a
cardioversion
or another ablation. My ablation took three hrs and l was told it was successful, however, immediately following l experienced a pericardium effusion and was rushed back to theatre for a chest drain and was admitted for five days.

Had an unsuccessful
cardioversion
and now feel like I'm on a treadmill I can't get off. Messing with my mental health too. How co you all cope?

Diltiazem
To make a long story short, my first
cardioversion
gave me NSR for 24 hours. The second one gave me only a few minutes. After that I was admitted to hospital and put on a diltiazem dris which eventually got me out of AF.

Recurrence of aFib after a 10-month break
Drugs did not work to stop the "attack" so I received a
cardioversion
"zap." This did the trick and I was symptom free -- no racing heart, no palpitations, no flutters -- for almost 10 months. I was put on apixaban blood thinner (5 mg, twice daily) to prevent stroke.

Advice regarding setting of expectations ahead of cardiology appointment would be appreciated.
Hopefully I’m not leading the witness too much, but is someone in my situation, with fairly low symptoms and HR below 100 unlikely to be a candidate for
cardioversion
or ablation or pacemaker. The only definite I know is that I am in persistent AF.

how can I help my son with feeling depressed after his cardioversion two days ago which appeared to have gone well?
my son who had a
cardioversion
two days ago, felt full of the joys of spring afterwards as he felt so much better. However reality kicks in and he’s feeling really down.

Post Atrial flutter
Hi me again My husband had a
cardioversion
on Friday. It wasn't the same as usual when he has had Arrythmia but for severe atrial flutter and it was a rushed job in A & E where he was only partially sedated so he felt it. His heart rhythm/ speed is back to normal but he feels rubbish.

Ablation Cancelled
I had
cardioversion
in April, felt great, back in NSR for a week then Afib returned. Cardiologist has put me on waiting list for abaltion in March but I was told it could be a year.

AFib and Cardioversion
For the last month have been on Apixaban in readiness for a
Cardioversion
at the end of this week. I was originally quite hopeful about this but looking at the stats it’s likely that this will be a temporary reprieve at best from Afib.

Any ideas folks?
They did a
cardioversion
and all was good. Yesterday for whatever reason, my heart decided to go the opposite way, lower. I have a pacemaker which is set at 60. My heart rate since yesterday is 60 and a few time I’ve felt my pacemaker kick in. What causes this to happen? Never been low before.

No treatment offered for A F
She's never been offered
cardioversion
, ablation or anything else; in fact she'd never even heard of them. She lives alone since her husband died and is now really struggling with breathlessness and tiredness. She only sees the cardiologist once a year or talks to the local c hemist.
