Pace and ablate for atrial tachycardia?
The evidence here and elsewhere suggests that pace and ablate comprises a good option for many of those folks in later life who have very symptomatic persistent/permanent AF and for whom
cardioversion
no longer works.

Any suggestions?
Any help for permanent afib after having three cardioversions which worked for the past two years last one only lasted two weeks. Taken off Multaq and on Lopressor 100 am & pm plus eliquis. Told ablation would more than likely not be successful. Should I get a second opinion. Do not feel that great

Changing from Adoxaban to Apixaban … what to expect?
A bit fed up as this delays the
cardioversion
for a few weeks. So I’m just wondering if there’s anything I should know about Apixaban and the difference between this and Adoxaban in peoples experience.

AF and statins
I had
cardioversion
and was put on blood thinners and BP meds. In the last few months it has returned as PAF. My ECG watch goes red every other day for hours or days. It can come on its own or be triggered by exercise.

afib ablation question
Had
cardioversion
done the beginning of this year and it worked for 5 days then back in afib. Had ablation done 2 weeks and 5 days ago. He just went back into afib again. Has sleep apnea but wears the mask every night.

Sudden ‘Possible Afib’
In November last year, I had my third, very extensive and arduous ablation which also involved 3 cardioversions. I felt pretty rough for quite a while afterwards, much worse than the previous two, but I have enjoyed 10 weeks of blissful NSR. My heart rate has been 50 - 60 bpm and my EP has reduced my

Uncertain about Amiodarone and cardioversion
Looking forward to hearing from anybody who has the
cardioversion
that has successfully cured AF; where they went for treatment and any other tips. Many thanks.

Alive, with thanks: update on nightmare
He may want me to go in for
cardioversion
, depending on whether I'm still in fib. In the meantime I'm managing with metoprolol twice a day as a baseline, to be increased if needed.

Second ablation
I had my second ablation on Monday and whilst in recovery I was advised that it had failed and I would be getting a pacemaker in the next few weeks. I also had 6 cardioversions so am looking very sunburned across my chest. What do they mean when it failed? I thought that they would do it and see

Experience of ablation for persistent AF?
So while I wait they’re trying a holding operation - amiodorone with a second
cardioversion
coming up in 2 weeks time.

Is an ablation for Persistent AF right for me?
The EP advised against ablation due to my age, I'm now 77, and he didn't want to do a
cardioversion
himself due to a nerve problem in his hands. Instead, he said he would make a fast referral for a
cardioversion
under the NHS.

Back from EP after Cardioversion Failure
Now EP wants to try another
Cardioversion
in conjunction with amiodarone . I am concerned because I already have neuropathy in feet and fingers and I have read this medicine can worsen that. Anyone with experience with it?

can’t get complacent. 😏
My af journey started 2015 when thyroid prob started it off. Cardioversions didn’t help only lasting 1 mth. Was always in Af, never converted back to nsr without ablation. Had 2nd ablation Dec 2021, was on table for 6 hrs as they also dealt with a flutter they found. Have had a few times when hearts

cyroablation yesterday...
When I got home grabbed my Kardia and sure enough "possible atrial fibrillation", scheduled a second
cardioversion
for April10, on table, hooked up, in and out of afib...of course doc says
cardioversion
won't do any good, went home with scheduled cryoablation May 03, 2023.

Fed Up.
Hello again, very long time, no see. I will freely admit that a huge part of my absence has been pure denial. As 2024 begins, I realise I have been a prisoner of my health problems since late 2020, when it all really kicked off probably due in no small way to our good friend Covid, both mentally and

AF and Travel Insurance Policies with AllClear
Whilst on holiday in Gran Canaria, I required an emergency DC

Why I stopped metoprolol
Quick summary: I’ve had one ablation, for A-fib, August 2022. All was well A-flutter began in August 2023. I’ve had five cardioversions since then, lasting from three weeks to three days. I am now in A-flutter awaiting an ablation on February 6. Success rate statistically is around 95%. Fingers crossed
